Dr. Lee Thornton was the most influential, important, and inspiring person in my education and career. I am me because of her, and everything I do will always be in her honor. Miss you and love you dearly, Dr. T. #InternationalWomensDay #UMDJournalism @merrillcollege

Brewers 1B Jake Bauers decided to retire two years ago. His wife was going to go back to work as a teacher and he would be a stay-at-home-dad. Three weeks later, though, she found out she was pregnant with their second child.
Bauers decided to return to baseball only because his family needed health insurance. Tonight he was named MVP of the National League Championship Series.

A CURTAIN CALL FOR AN OPPOSING PLAYER IS ONE OF THE RAREST THINGS IN SPORTS.
#METS FANS JUST GAVE PETE ALONSO A MASSIVE STANDING OVATION.
The crowd then spent nearly two minutes loudly chanting:
“FIRE DAVID STEARNS.”
Absolutely wild scenes in Queens.
🚨🚨WE HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS🚨🚨
PETE ALONSO JUST HIT HIS 300TH HOME RUN AGAINST THE #METS IN HIS RETURN TO CITY FIELD TO TIE THE GAME IN THE 9TH.
THE CROWD WENT ABSOLUTELY BERSERK CELEBRATING FOR THE OPPOSING PLAYER.
THIS IS WILD.

The space that they created was awesome and we all know Lamar Jackson is amazing"

Joke was on us. At the end of the day, this is the same frustratingly inconsistent Orioles team led by the same frustratingly unadmirable manager.

That was a really heartfelt, thoughtful farewell letter Adley Rutschman wrote to Orioles fans. It’s nice of him to so eloquently show love to a fan base that adored him. Even though it came days after Dean Kremer and Tyler Wells didn’t hesitate to share their thoughts about how much the city of Baltimore, the Orioles, and O’s fans meant to them, it’s nice that Adley finally found the time to share his love for us after he was traded. Thanks Adley! We hear you loud and clear!

So in return for the first of four years of tanking, the Orioles get zero playoff wins and the prospects from the Red Sox. Make it make sense. Well, the ownership at that time made a lot of money.
