Check out some Barbara Kingsolver and Toni Morrison. Poisonwood Bible and Beloved are magical.

So the last book i read was The Way We Live Now by Anthony Trollope and now i am reading The Disappearers by Marlon James, and like 3 quarters the way through The Disappearers, a character speaks about reading How We Live Now and loving Trollope. Whoah!!!

Marvin Gaye’s a cappella Sexual Healing, as he harmonises with himself alongside Gordon Banks. Just in case anyone wants to know what perfection sounds like.

Noooo! Hopefully the next house announcer has the same low key class. We don't need an obnoxious loud mouth on the mic. Please. @Lakers

I am so sad to hear. He was a great vibe dude, always engaged me in conversation about jazz, he was a music lover and the best announcer in the nba. I realized when attending many other nba arenas that noone else came close. Bless his beautiful heart.
Lawrence Tanter, forever in our hearts as a member of the Lakers family 💜

ABSOLUTELY. Two of my favorites ever.
Toni Morrison and James Baldwin. Brilliant minds. Literary giants. Bold hearts. We are better because they existed.

@flea333's memoir, Acid For The Children, is a visceral, tour de force ode to his childhood resilience and a kind of love letter to the feral streets of LA that he roamed. Plus - brilliantly - the memoir ends with the first RHCP gig.

Hey Bobby, thanks so much for the kind word man. Just to clear up the discussion, i played trumpet when i was a kid in middle school and in high school band. Then for about 40 years i picked it up once in a blue moon for a few days, to get a sound going but never played much beyond what i did in high school. About 3 years ago i started really playing it and doing my best. So even tho i played when i was a kid and occasionally picked it up, it was not until a few years that i got serious with it. ❤️❤️❤️
Flea - Honora My album of the day. A veteran bassist in unfamiliar territory, with trumpet in hand, trusting instinct over mastery. On a wander through jazz, dub and ambient, as a crack band leaves him plenty room to find his feet. 2026. 🎧 A Plea
