Beethovenโs tuning fork! The note A is @ 455.4Hz, higher, brighter sounding than the standard 423.5Hz used in the 19th century. Tuning to 440 was adopted in 1939. The fork went to George Bridgetower who premiered the Kreutzer sonata. Later donated to the British Library in 1990.
