Dear GMMTV Management,
I am writing to express growing concerns about the company’s approach to artist management, on-screen partnerships, public relations, and fan engagement. This is not an attack on any individual artist, nor is it solely about one particular controversy. Rather, it reflects broader concerns about decisions that raise questions regarding professionalism, accountability, and the treatment of both artists and audiences.
Acting is a profession, and artists have every right to pursue individual careers, explore new opportunities, and work with different colleagues. However, those decisions should be managed thoughtfully. GMMTV spends years encouraging fans to invest emotionally and financially in on-screen partnerships through series, concerts, fan meetings, merchandise, and promotional activities. Yet when these partnerships end, the transitions sometimes appear rushed, poorly communicated, and inconsiderate of the audiences whose loyalty helped establish them. Nobody expects actors to remain paired forever, but reasonable transition periods, proper communication, and respect for everyone involved should be standard practice.
Another serious concern is the need for proper media training and professional conduct among GMMTV artists. As public figures representing an established entertainment company, their words, actions, interviews, social media activities, and interactions with colleagues carry professional consequences. Artists should receive consistent training in public communication, social media etiquette, conflict management, crisis response, and professional boundaries. GMMTV’s public relations and crisis management also require greater attention. While private matters should remain private, professional decisions affecting publicly promoted projects deserve appropriate communication rather than prolonged silence that encourages speculation.
Equally important is fairness and consistency in artist management. Every artist deserves dignity, respect, and professional consideration regardless of popularity or commercial value. Years of hard work and contribution should not appear disposable simply because the company has chosen a different direction. Furthermore, not every disappointed fan is toxic, and refusing to support a new pairing does not automatically constitute hatred. Fans have the right to choose which artists, projects, and partnerships they support. Loyalty cannot be demanded, and public acceptance cannot be forced.
I also want to address GMMTV’s relationship with its international audience. If international fans are not considered a priority or part of your target audience, why actively market your artists, productions, merchandise, concerts, and fan events to them? Why benefit from international streaming numbers, financial contributions, social media engagement, and global publicity, only to appear dismissive when those same audiences raise legitimate concerns? You cannot welcome international fans when their support generates revenue and visibility, then treat their opinions as insignificant when criticism arises. This is not a demand that management agree with every complaint or allow fans to dictate business decisions. It is a call for consistency, respect, and meaningful engagement. International fans cannot be valuable enough to market to but irrelevant when it is time to listen.
The issue is not that partnerships end, artists move forward, or business decisions change. The issue is how those decisions are managed and communicated. A well-managed transition can preserve goodwill and years of trust, while a poorly handled one can damage both.
I sincerely hope GMMTV will reflect on these concerns and take meaningful steps toward improving its practices. The entertainment industry will continue to evolve, but professionalism, fairness, and respect should never become optional.
Sincerely,
A concerned Fan.

doing shows focused on male friendship is not a bad thing, the point is that there should be no concept of fixed couple.
read that again.

maybe gmmtv should start investing in acting lessons for their actors/actresses instead of wasting their budget on bromance and het slops nobody asked for 😪

from what ive seen, read & told about #GMMTVPOPUPSTOREINMALAYSIA:
- if you wanna come to the exhibition and stamp area you can only do so before 12.30pm and after 5pm since the space is only accessible for the on-site purchase reservations & online pickup orders
- the setup for the queue is outside the venue so you can only enter the venue during your timeslot 😹😹😹
- there are blackout curtains for the fansign and 1:1 mascot private photo event so it IS private enough that non-winners cant even see the event take place (unlike the previous one in klcc)
- can only expect to see artists & mascots when they enter & leave the venue so there will be a lot of waiting involved 🥲
(pls cmiiw)
