A post grad year in baseball isn't a step back. For the right player it's the best year of development they'll ever get.

My parents bought their house decades ago.
The mortgage is long gone.
You’d think owning the place outright would mean the expensive part was over.
Then I looked at what the property taxes would be today.
About $1,950 a month.
That’s nearly $23,400 every year just to keep a house you already paid for.
Imagine being 75, living in the same home for 40 years, having no mortgage, and still needing a paycheck just to afford the property taxes.
You never truly finish paying for the house.
You just change who you’re paying.
Mortgage company first then Government forever.
