Desi Karen doesn’t like polio workers knocking on her door. She slams it in their faces while they’re just trying to do their job in one of the last two countries in the world where polio still exists (the other being Afghanistan). More than 200 polio health workers and the policemen escorting them have been killed in attacks. Most get around 10–12k for the entire area round, roughly 1,500 for a full day of door-to-door work for the polio worker, with no extra allowance for the police or Levies escorting them

– On 2 Nov his lawyer was allowed a brief meeting at Adiala Jail, the first in 7 months.
– Khan reports his blood pressure spiked to 192. He never had high BP, and it was normal a year ago. The family's medical advisors say developing it suddenly at 70+ is virtually unheard of.
– He says the problems began only after more than a year of total isolation, and accuses those holding him of trying to kill him by withholding proper treatment.
– The family demands his immediate admission to an independent hospital in Islamabad, with his personal doctor present.
– A Supreme Court order from August 2026 for treatment at Shifa International Hospital has still not been implemented.
– He survived multiple attempts on his life before jail, including being shot several times in the leg, one bullet narrowly missing his femoral artery.
– If anything happens to him now, the family says, it will be cold-blooded murder.
