hermes can now spin up cua spaces on your own mac, windows pc or linux box, do the work, and clean up after your team can jump in anytime thanks @Teknium for inspiring this !
1/ Hermes can now launch Cua Spaces. When a task needs a computer, Hermes creates a Space on your Mac, Windows PC or Linux box, does the work there, and deletes it when it's done. You and your team can jump into the same Space while it works.

You SHOULD start learning/using two things: - Hermes agent - local AI That is the future.
Jensen closed his GTC Berlin 2026 keynote with this Hermes Agent demo as the finale. He introduced it by saying the way to build an agent is to ask an agent to build it for you, so he installed and set up a customized Hermes in one prompt. Then he used Hermes, running on @nvidia RTX Spark, to create a simulated training environment for the @huggingface Microduck. Hermes planned an obstacle course with Nemotron and had GPT-6 Astra build it using FreeCAD, Omniverse libraries, Blender, Newton, and Isaac Lab. Hermes trained thousands of simulated ducks on that course until the validated policy was ready to run on the real robot in the physical world. At Nous, we believe open source is a practical tool as much as a philosophical ideal. It gives users the ability to build powerful, complex workflows chaining numerous local+cloud models, devices, and tools themselves instead of waiting for a company to enable them.

1/ 100% agree with the list at the end. trust, community, hardware. that's out bet behind cua spaces. the code was public from day one. here's where our time actually goes 🧵
It's that simple. Every software in the future will be cloned in minutes. CUA was released 2 days ago, and within 27 hours it was open-sourced for free. There is no moat anymore for SaaS apart from trust, community, proprietary data, and physical hardware.

4/ same as photoshop or office: you're not buying the code, you're buying the cohesive experience and the team behind it.

5/ most of cua is MIT: cua driver, lume, the sandbox SDK. only the spaces app is source-available, so you can audit what runs on your machines. build on top of it. that's why it's public. (you don't even need to reverse engineer it, it's right there 😄)

Cua (@trycua) gives every AI agent its own cloud desktop. Francesco Bonacci (@francedot) came from Xbox and Microsoft AI. At YC in Spring 2025 he launched Cua as open source containers where computer-use agents control a full operating system, at up to 97% of native CPU speed on Apple Silicon. The idea: agents need real apps to be useful, and handing them your own machine is risky. A sandboxed desktop keeps the agent productive and your data safe. Today Cua runs desktops for coding agents like Claude Code and Codex. Orange Collective led their seed, alongside Y Combinator (@ycombinator). @guilleflorvs and I are investors. xitter.cf/rdominguezibar/status/…

1/ Introducing the Cua Spaces SDK. Every big lab now ships a bot with its own computer: Grok Bot, Muse, dots. None let you bring your own. With Cua Spaces, now you can. Put Claude Code, Codex or any agent on compute you choose, and run jobs across all your computers at once.

Cua users keep raising the bar!
I used the CUA SDK (@trycua) + my Meta glasses that have Claude inside giving my own glasses, its own computer. "Hey Claude, use your computer and open Gmail, make a draft email about Opus 5.5." It does the work on its own computer, not my Mac, and tells me in my ear when it's done. Runs on my local Claude Code. No API key. @francedot

Been hitting computer use issues with Codex on macOS, mostly around screensaver and display sleep. After I posted about it, the @trycua team suggested using Cua. I use Cua often with agents, but usually stick to Codex native when using the desktop app bc it’s been solid until recently. Fired up Cua and ran into a similar problem almost immediately 🫣 Did a pretty thorough investigation: - tested screensaver and display sleep separately - compared accessibility behavior before/after - dug through macOS logs. Screenshots still worked, but the accessibility tree dropped from 68 elements to zero and background interactions got blocked. Shared the findings here in same thread. The team jumped on it immediately, reproduced the screensaver case, and opened a GitHub issue + PR with a fix. Really cool to see that level of responsiveness! They truly pay attention to users. OSS for the win! Appreciate the @trycua folks! 🫡 Issue: github.com/trycua/cua/issues… PR: github.com/trycua/cua/pull/5…
you're our most important eval! and just one tweet away from helping us shape what's missing in cua driver (and spaces) and what we can do better. we read every single tweet! 👀

we make the trends
RE: Hermes + Cua Spaces I'm noticing a trend here. First it was just agents, then it was agents using browsers then it was agents orchestrating then it agents using browsers then it's agents using your computer then it's agents with their own sandboxes either locally or in the cloud.
