One time, a young ML researcher asked Master Ilya: "Teacher, according to the formulas, if I use the same seed and same prompt with the same weights, I will get the same results. Is my math right?"
Master Ilya looked at the matmuls and said: "Probably."
The young researcher replayed the same prompt with the same seed and the same weights and got different results.
He went back to Master Ilya and said: "Teacher, I used the same seed, the same prompt and the same weights. Why did I get different results? Is my math wrong?"
Master Ilya looked at the matmuls and said: "Probably"
The young researcher cried: "Teacher, I don't understand!"
Master Ilya looked at the young researcher and said: "Probably"
And the young researcher was enlightened.
It is amazing how many Star Wars fans are slavery apologists.
The clones were implanted with obedience chips, raised in social isolation and groomed from their childhood, told to make an oath without option to refuse, were never offered an option to be freed of that oath or a reasonable path to an end of their military career, and treated as deserters and oath breakers if they leave the army.
It doesn't matter who created the clones. I am talking about the moral choice the Jedi made.
The Council knew the truth about the clones from the very beginning. Yet they had no moral qualms about using an army of millions of people who were considered property, had mind control devices in their brains, and were sent to their death with no meaningful choice.
And people still think the Jedi were somehow the good guys.
Dear @Apple why the heck is the Phone app in iOS 27 always defaulting to the keypad?
Remember back in the days in Star Wars prequels, when the Republic - the good guys, the democracy, the opponents of the fascism - used an army of slaves with obedience chips in their brains?
Turns out 57% of California voters would totally support that.
> imagine your uterus is preparing to shed its lining
Genuinely, I have no idea whatsoever how to approach this.
Even if I wanted to intellectually approach this, I can't because no woman has ever been able to describe to me in an understandable way what this means to her beyond the base biology facts.
Like, I can imagine that I have an uterus, and I can imagine that a lining starts to shed and I see blood, and I can even imagine that I feel pain as if I am badly constipated... although I am sure many women would scream in blind rage why would I compare cramps to constipation pain, but I have no reasonable base to compare here, so I guess I am being screamed at... anyway.
But I have no idea how to relate any of this to "feelin' sexy", honestly.
Like, I do not know what the path between "I have physical discomfort and pain" and "feelin' sexy" is, because I have never in my life have heard a woman utter "hey sexy" and think anything remotely similar to "that can't be true because I am in pain"
Honestly, this whole example is like saying "imagine how you're looking in a green shirt" to a blind person. They know they are wearing a green shirt (or so they've been told), and they know when they feel good about themselves. But because they have never seen how they look in green or any other, there is literally no neuron paths in their brains that connect the concept of color and their self-perception.
Whatever you think of the Malfoid or Anakin memes, discourse, or ideological alignment...
...this right here is the perfect memetic crossover.
Btw, there were people in my old country who interpreted Star Wars as a tale of the proletariat revolution against the Western imperialist system.
Others claimed the Force was fascist-coded as it promoted the idea of the ubermensch who were above others and above the law.
Imagine that - Empire as an allegory of militaristic imperialist US, and the Jedi as the literal Nazi ideal - both interpretations that resonated with many of the socialists of the last century.
"But that's not what Lukas intent was!"
May I suggest The Death of the Author by Barthes as optional reading material?
The #STARWARS Anakin discourse is literally The Death of the Author happening in real time, and all the Barthes fans are losing their collective minds.
That time when a @Railway employee tried to hack a competitor's platform... and then played the age old "m'lady, 'twas naught but a rogue AI agent" excuse.
- They pulled credentials from inside their app's container and used them to request every secret on the platform: ours and every other customer's.
- They tried our cloud provider's metadata endpoint, the standard way to steal credentials for the host a container runs on.
- They asked the cluster what those stolen credentials were allowed to do.
- They went looking for our databases and caches by guessing their internal names.
- They port-scanned our whole internal network, all 65,536 addresses, twice.
- It was about 24 commands over 15 minutes, done on purpose and scripted. No app was ever run.
- Every attempt was blocked. Nothing was accessed.
I was there when my wife gave birth to both my kids, and there was blood and poop, and other fluids evolved, and she has never looked better to me. Do you think it matters much if she wore unwashed sweatpants three days in a row, or if she's scratching her pubic hair? Heck, she's can fly around the house on a broomstick using farts to propel herself, burping the star spangled banner, for all I care, and I would just stand there with a hand on my chest waiting for her to finish so I can jump her bones.
Replying to @MadelaineLucyH
Ok more context: your girlfriend isn’t Sydney Sweeney in lingerie. She’s Katie who works in Costco and she does not smell good. She’s been wearing the same unwashed sweatpants for a three days and she’s scratching her public hair and wiping snot off her chin.
"Qui-Gon won him in a bet and left his mother in slavery. In ten years the Order never went back for her."
The Jedi of the prequels are not the Good Guys.
I never thought I'd see the death of the author come for George Lucas. But god damn it if this discourse around Star Wars isn't as real as it gets. Even if it was written largely by Claude.

Ugh. Why @NousResearch ? Why?! :-(
This lost me couple of hours of work. The whole point of an agent is to be able to run in fully automated standalone mode.

His shift ended half an hour ago. He stays for one more ship.
He knows the clearance by heart. It still looks impossibly close.

Meet Idol, an open image-to-3D model. A 3D-DiT that generates complete 3D objects from just an image.
Pre-trained from scratch, contains only 600M parameters, it runs on consumer GPUs, using less than 7.2 GB of VRAM and can generate 1M splats in 3 seconds. Try it today.
Fully open: weights, code and demo (Apache 2.0)

Dang it, the @MiaAI_lab 2x DGX Spark Tensorfold recipe runs at 70 tok/s prose and 82 tok/s code - about 60% increase to the vLLM recipe I've been running before.
Awesome job @ashxhart and everyone else working on @tensorfold_dev
