We share the European Court of Human Rights @ECHR_CEDH judgement that Swiss court violated right of Caster Semenya @MightyCaster to a fair trial in her legal battle over eligibility rules for women’s athletics competitions. States must fully examine allegations of human rights abuses, including when reviewing sports arbitration decisions that touch on fundamental rights. This is particularly the case where serious concerns have been raised, such as eligibility regulations that force or pressure some women athletes to undergo intrusive tests and take medically unnecessary treatment - or be excluded from women’s sport.
