Dawarich, c'est Google Timeline en auto-hébergé. En mieux. Docker, open source AGPL : heatmap, Fog of War, jours par pays, apps iOS/Android maison, photos géolocalisées via Immich. Reprenez la main sur votre historique 👇 it-connect.fr/dawarich-alter… #selfhosting #privacy

I took back my data. Ten years of Google knowing exactly where I slept, worked, and drove, exported in one file and moved onto a server I own. The app is called Dawarich. A self-hosted replacement for Google Timeline, and importing your history into it is genuinely eye-opening. One blogger who did this pulled in 139,000 location points going back to 2012, over a decade of quiet tracking laid out on a single map. One Dawarich user, in a testimonial on the project’s site, described watching 16 countries and 378 cities of travel appear the moment they imported their history. That’s the part people don’t expect. It’s not just “here’s your data.” It’s watching a decade of your life get plotted in front of you and realizing how much of it Google had the entire time. → Import directly from Google Takeout, GPX, GeoJSON, OwnTracks, or Strava, years of history in minutes → Automatic trip detection and stats: total distance, countries visited, days spent per country, broken down by year → Integrates with Immich and Photoprism, so geotagged photos surface right on your timeline → Native iOS and Android apps track live location in the background, no Google app required → Share your location with family, with per-person consent, not a blanket permission Google decides for you Google Timeline was “free” because that decade of tracking helped power one of the largest ad businesses on earth. Dawarich runs the same experience on a server that answers to no one but you. Open source. AGPL-3.0. 9,000+ GitHub stars.

I don't understand why anyone uses "auth as a service". In Rails we have a gem (package) called Devise which handles registration, confirmation, sessions, forgot passwords, etc. For 10+ years! Does this not exist in other ecosystems?
