Really think Newman is set up for a big year atop the Rutgers lineup. Defense is + and bat has impressed this fall.
Scott Newman brings an intriguing power-and-defense combination to @RutgersBaseball.
The Georgia transfer hit .300/.410/.582 with 19 homers at USC Upstate in 2025. Now, he gives the Scarlet Knights an experienced defender in center field with plenty of offensive upside.

⚾️🍁FALL REPORT: Rutgers⚾️🍁
With a veteran-laden offensive lineup and a retooled pitching staff, @SteveOwens30 and @RutgersBaseball look to make a move in the @B1Gbaseball in '27.
@fridaystarters has an excellent look at the Scarlet Knights' fall.

Boston College wins both games, 6-5 and 5-0. Will have full fall reports on both sides over @d1baseball later this fall.
Wrapping up my weekend at Bainton Field as @RutgersBaseball hosts @BCBirdBall for a pair of 7-inning games. Lovely day for a doubleheader.

Strong stuff from Army righty Kevin Reavey, should lead their staff in '26. Four-pitch mix and filled up the zone, CB got a lot of whiffs. And to no surprise, St. Joe's Blake Primrose is just barreling up baseballs. Two doubles and just missed a HR to left.
Checking in from a blustery Smithson Field as I'm getting a look at @SJUHawks_Base & @ArmyWP_Baseball. Complete 180 from yesterday's weather, feels more like fall!

I'm thrilled to welcome the talented @gracegnugent back to the @d1baseball crew! A passionate baseball sicko, Grace is a former D1 Viceroy & superb beat writer for UNC, now in her native Texas, where she'll work as our Big 12 Insider. She'll be at TCU this wknd—give her a follow!

Fun name to file away from yesterday's @UVABaseball intrasquad: Freshman two-way player Colton Guillot out of Florida. Drove in a pair of runs (1B + SF) and struck out six of the seven batters he faced out of the bullpen. Bulldog on the mound and drew some ugly swings.
Seeing five programs this weekend ... Starting with a beautiful day for a little @UVABaseball fall world series action.
Enjoyed putting together an interactive way to peruse the history of our @d1baseball Top 100 program rankings ... includes conference/state views as well as individual program trends (West Virginia 📈).

🍁⚾️FALL REPORT: Northeastern⚾️🍁
There's no better way to get ready for the spring than checking out our in-depth team fall reports. Next: @GoNUbaseball, which has more certainty this fall than last.
@fridaystarters has the scoop on the Huskies:

.@DaronVaught & I caught up with new @BCBirdBall assistant coach Matt Antonelli on the @ACCbsbETC pod yesterday. Fun convo on Antonelli's path back to the ACC after formerly starring at Wake Forest and reaching the major leagues. open.spotify.com/episode/3SU…
Pretty good potential 1-2 punch in the rotation for the Hokies.

DiMartini hit .250 with a 27.1 K% across 148 PAs for Duke last spring, a sizable step back from his lofty '25 campaign at Dayton (.403/.465/.685, 14 HR, 37 SB). We've seen a lot of transfers flourish in their second year in the ACC, could fit that billing.
But @DukeBASE veteran Michael DiMartini (pictured) took the talented Trey Williford very deep to left center, clobbering a 92 mph fastball 439 feet - 110 mph off the bat. Jake Lambdin added a 2-run shot in the 3rd off Julian Peissel.
Couple other arms that stood out last night ... @UConnBSB righty Drew Smith was 93-95 with four-pitch mix and had 3 Ks, figures to push for rotation role. Liked UMass transfer Adam Merritt's big CB. MJ Bollinger also struck out two in scoreless ninth. Projected closer.
BC wins the exhibition, 8-7, in a fun one. Stay tuned for fall reports on these two clubs on @d1baseball
Couple early thoughts from Storrs ... @BCBirdBall freshman righty JJ Drennan looks like the real deal, touched 98 in first and sat 95-96 w/ 3 Ks, showed SL/CH. Julio Solier remains a + defender, unassisted double play & remarkable leaping snag up the middle.

Fall ball! In Storrs as @UConnBSB hosts @BCBirdBall coming up at 6 p.m. Excited to get a look at two talented rosters.
