Stoked to learn new techniques for developing physiologically relevant biofilm models. Fav part of being an interdisciplinary bioengineer - learning from the experts!
A fantastic two days training colleagues old and new from 8 UK/Irish universities, @UKHSA and a CRO to set up our ex vivo model of biofilm infection in cystic fibrosis lungs, and discussing collaborative projects and proposals.

Great hands on training in Warick University with @friendlymicrobe using the ex vivo pig lung model. I look forward to applying it to my own work @IrishResearch @MaynoothBiology #loveirishresearch
We had an excellent day - superb teaching from @PhoebeMSilva & @LittleJ3nny, and excellent to see a big group of colleagues from academia & industry to talk lung #infection, #CysticFibrosis and #antimicrobial innovations.

The killing heat has arrived. People are literally being burned alive, collapsing on sun-scorched surfaces and dying from extreme burns because surfaces are just that hot.
Yes, really. This isn't dystopian fiction, it's our reality. And it's only going to get worse. 1/6

For as important as the outcomes of our research are, I am almost more enthusiastic about seeing the young people who come in to help us be involved in the research process and build their understanding of science as a positive process. Made my weekend here.

Pleased to announce my review is now out in @tandfonline! In this review, @mmcbuckner and I have critically reviewed existing literature on how non-antibiotic pharmaceuticals and environmental pollutants promote transfer of plasmids carrying AMR genes.

ARE YOU IN A BAND AND/OR DO YOU OWN A CLASSIC MINI?
For Stage 2 of this project I need to interview someone who, ideally, owns a classic Mini AND is in a rock or ska band. Is this you? Do you know someone who fits the bill? Please share to help me find the next test subject!
