Thanks @vic4wapping + @DavidJEdgar for inviting me to join their meeting with residents opposing AEG's plan to use Victoria Park for 75 days next summer. I'd be amazed if Aspire's cllrs vote against this application when it comes to committee but this is a misuse of a public park

Spot the difference.
We didn't 5x the Cycleways network in London overnight. It took vision, hard work, and the conviction to invest in green infrastructure - often in the face of vocal opposition.
In 2016, we had 90km of Cycleways. Now we're at 450km. That's real progress.
And we're not stopping there…

ALT Graphic with the headline, “London’s cycle network is now five times larger than in 2016.” The upper map is labelled “BEFORE 2016” and shows London with a small number of bright green cycle routes concentrated around central London. The lower map is labelled “AFTER 2026” and shows London with many more bright green cycle routes extending across central and outer London.

Ghost flats are becoming Britain’s new housing crisis - The i Paper article makes perfect sense @SteveReedMP. Nobody wants to buy overpriced, high service charge, build badly build flats. #Streatham Vale’s Woodgate white elephant? apple.news/AxLmP9PtXQGSAVRtm…
Native plants are dying in the drought. Meanwhile – Mediterranean plants are thriving. Clinging to botanical nationalism while ecosystems collapse is not conservation; it’s sentimentality. Our climate has changed. Our planting palette must change with it.

Our residents deserve Safer Pavements and e-bike operators need to utilise their expansive set of resources to explore different ways of enforcing tougher penalties on those breaking the rules.

No surprise to see Tower Hamlets Council failing to properly publicise the consultation on AEG's planning application for 75 days of commercial events in Victoria Park. Two weekends of festivals each summer is enough. Well done to those at @VickyParkFriend who are objecting to it

Woohoo! So happy to see my first orchids of the year yesterday. Beautiful Green-winged orchids, Anacamptis morio and with stunning views too! #wildflowerhour
I've just signed @London_Cycling's petition calling for action on cycle theft...
40,000 bikes are stolen every year in London. This has to change. Join me in calling for action: action.lcc.org.uk/theft

Delighted to announce that following the consultation, I'm giving the green light to make Oxford Street traffic-free.

You don’t want to accept your mayors failure. It’s always someoen else’s fault. Perhaps you can get the £200k back for the project to complete.

The QMUL link would have increased footfall to the Globe Market.
It would also have completed a project to allow access to the uni via Meath Gardens cycle bridge.
Opening up the route would have benefited everyone.

Yeh, thanks to mayor Rahman for cutting over £200,000 funding from the market square regeneration scheme. It meant remaining work could not be completed which included opening an arch to increase footfall from Queen Mary University. Ask local businesses & @friendsofmeath1
