I don’t power scale squadmates, I don’t choose who’s in my ground team based on strength/abilities, I don’t choose who’s goes with Shep depending on the mission; I choose who my Shepard’s bffs would be within the first 2 hours of a playthrough and if that fucks me over I reload

MEA is what the devs wanted to ME1 to be. but back then the technology & engine they had didn't allow for the og to be what they envisioned :) it was a really ambitious project but devs had only 18 months to make MEA (it was rewritten and remade many times) while being understaffed and inexperienced with Frostbite engine
so i really appreaciate what we got and mourn what we would've had if they weren't forced to work on Anthem right after MEA dropped
Replying to @EA
Thanks for the tags everyone! We'll get to as many as we can before the end of the day.

#SaveMassEffect The idea that doing all this is pointless is extremely flawed. None of us know what’s gonna happen here. What we DO know is Mass Effect and BioWare stay dead without intervention. This is simply fans being the ones to intervene, or at least start to.

is anything more bioware than people going crazy with art and content over an alien that showed up for maybe four seconds in a trailer for a cancelled game. may your spirit never die

WE ARE IN @IGN with @kalaelizabeth!!! Huge thanks to @MikeCripe for this feature, it feels unreal!! I'm so proud of everyone in this community and of what we're achieving together ❤️🩹 this is just the start, hold the line!!!
We were interviewed by @IGN!
We spoke with @MikeCripe about how the Times Sq billboard came to be, our fight to preserve both Mass Effect and BioWare, and our commitment to standing with the developers who built this universe.

One thing about #SaveMassEffect: What really sucks & cannot be undone is all the folks at BioWare who lost their jobs. Even if EA licensed the IP, that doesn't solve anything for them. 😕 Someone with a lotta cash would have to license it AND hire the team.

Alright. My plan is to release the re-scored Mass Effect Universe trailer for N7 Day. A little tight, since I'm a bit busy pitching for a new game, but I'll see what I can do! I don't wanna rush it, and I want it to properly represent my musical vision for MEU.
we could've all been so so happy for N7 day
"The Music That Might Have Been"
Austin Wintory, renowned composer behind games like Journey, releases 22 minutes of early Mass Effect 5 musical drafts from his pitch to compose the game:
"Working on Mass Effect 5 was my career's biggest dream project, my white whale. It is my favorite franchise of all time, and for the last couple years I'd been in serious conversations with BioWare and EA to jump in.
My suggestion was to treat the original game's masterful Jack Wall/Sam Hulick score as a starting point, and to build on it from there with deeper use of physical, analog synths and a more tightly interwoven use of the orchestra. But a love letter first and foremost (not unlike my approach to the Aliens franchise with Fireteam Elite).
As part of the ongoing dialogue, I decided last year (2025) to surprise the folks with an elaborate production: nearly 20 minutes of music, fully recorded and produced with synths, vocals and a large orchestra here in LA. I'd not yet learned any narrative details of what they were planning so this was just pure musical exploration.
Receiving the news alongside everyone else that EA had decided to not only cancel the project but shutdown BioWare entirely was a deeply felt loss. It's been hard to see dear friends lose their jobs, and this beloved franchise seemingly vanish forever.
Thank you nonetheless to everyone at BioWare and EA's music department for gifting me the chance to dream in your sandbox. It was a privilege to do even that much."
