Imagine the power that people with this type of sociopathic behavior will have if the governments of the world indeed regulate and limit access to this technology. They will be the only ones with full access to its potential and deciding who has access to what and in which capacity. It's mind boggling that we should consider that future as acceptable.

To all PHP developers, Today is not a good day. You are learning that people really hate you. They call you ignorant and blame you for being outdated, stubborn, and an overall detriment to the wellbeing of society. It makes little sense to you. You want to speak out, but they immediately shut you down. You want to say that, - All you've been doing in the last 15 years is trying your best at maintaining legacy software you don't own, in a programming language that once promised decision-makers the world at their feet. That same world that went on to embrace PHP as the best thing since sliced bread and would swear by it (we both remember, don't we?) Including many of the developers that now shame you. - You've been trying to push for years your organization to rewrite. But with no success, because meanwhile Agile happened and the NewSpeak is ship often and ship fast. - You've witnessed the birth of the web SPA and the explosion of Javascript frameworks. And you've seen it tremble to the worst security flaws imaginable. Data stolen, websites down for hours or days, companies being sent to court... things that make your PHP code feel like lighting a match while everyone around you is juggling torches. - You've seen this and much more. You've seen C code being used to hijack companies and people secrets, hardware security flaws that lock and hold for ransom critical servers, software engineers writing private keys in config files. You've seen all this and still don't understand how PHP fits in all of it. Don't worry. It will all pass. The world will move on in the next 48 hours, and go back to be really terrible at building software products. And you can go back to be a forgotten piece of legacy furniture. Just know some people are thinking of you today.

There is something profoundly funny about AI slopers laughing at PHP websites, after losing their keys to an agent publishing them, seeing their home folders deleted, or their entire production databases purged. This is a clown world.

Who's the target of this press release? My deceased grandma? Are these people trolling us at this point?
Let me ask a more profound question: What kind of authorities are we building in the hyper-sensitive domain of online security, without clearly defined, precise regulations and continuous, effective auditing practices to ensure these institutions are accountable, transparent, and actually fit for purpose? In plain English: What the fuck are we doing!?

How on earth did this happen: The Indian certificate authority (CA) eMudhra had one job (well, two): 1. Create secure, 384-bit private keys 2. Store these securely and do not leak them Well, eMudhra chose private keys between 1 and 256 (the numbers!!) and called it a day. WTF

Modern software developer interviews.
Interviewer: Swap two integers in C without using a third temporary variable and without risking arithmetic overflow. Systems programmer:

I really want to review code. Heck, I want to write it myself. But Jetbrains IDEs really frustrate me. Things like the absence of an option to remove all code highlighting or the in-your-face overengineered UI, make the IDE look like an hyper stylized piece of software that hurts the eyes and tires the brain. Which is unfortunate. There's very good code and debugging tooling engineering under that pimped hood.
anyone not reviewing the code at least deserves to be buried alive

If there is one lesson everyone should take from today's Revolut outage is, don't trade convenience for security. Use FinTech banking systems as a payments service and keep always traditional banks as your main account.

It's a worldwide total outage of all Revolut services, including log in! Service disruption is not even a nice way to put it. It's just a turd of a tweet. Anyways, could be another cloudfare outage according to this: downdetector.co.uk
We are currently experiencing a service disruption affecting multiple services. We can confirm that all our customers’ money and data are safe. We’ve been working to fix the issue since it was identified this morning and apologise to anyone affected and for any inconvenience caused.
