Two of our member women-led enterprises hosted the Ambassador of Netherlands, Angèle Samura at their premises, in engagements which spanned value addition, investment readiness, growth and export. 📍During the visits to Nature's Essence Limited, a mushroom processor and Krystal Ice Limited, a fruit juice ice producer, on Thursday, H.E. Samura heard stories of ambition and hope among women entrepreneurs. Maria Gorreti Nakanwagi of Nature's Essence and Linnet Nkunda Akol of Kyrstal ICE shared that before encountering the WEADS Project, which @fsme_uganda implements with support from @NLinUganda, they struggled to manage their enterprises into profitability. 🍀However, after the project's exposure, trainings in different aspects, and linkages to markets, suppliers and affordable finance, their businesses are scaling, only constrained by poor regulations and inadequate distribution channels. Samura, in her conversations, encouraged the women to digitalize of business processes to enable them to cut costs, access markets and compete in today's highly digitized economy. WEADS (Women-led Agri-SME Development Support) Project is a four-year programme aimed at accelerating the scale and impact of 100 women-led SMEs in the different agricultural value chains such as Coffee, Diary, Poultry, Potatoes, and Fruits & Vegetables. #SMEs #Business #UgSMEs #AgribusinessUg #AffordableFinance
