I just realized a new case for this: programmers no longer gate uiux designers from "wild and wacky" stuff

there's a common problem in software engineering where a prototype can make it look like an idea can work, simply because it doesn't cover all corner cases. LLM use inherently brings it to the forefront, because "it looks like it works."

Had a dream my neighbor dressed up her cat as Batman for Halloween. Then, she let it climb a screen door until it fell through. And then a ton of kittens escaped. I didn’t bother to film it for dream YouTube.

If you're trying to run Order of the Sinking Star under Asahi Linux, change the Steam launch options to: HK_PERFTEST=nobarrier VKD3D_SHADER_MODEL=6_5 %command%

On level load there's a giant D3D12 command list for which Honeykrisp allocates a 64kb command buffer for each barrier, resulting in a pretty quick OOM. You'll see a black screen + crash. HK_PERFTEST=nobarrier nops barriers, but it's playable and I haven't seen any glitching.

Time to watch My Dinner with Andre and feign surprise when Andre the Giant doesn't show up.

I'm increasingly thinking that every functioning system has two forms: The abstraction that outsiders are led to believe, and the reality that insiders actually and carefully operate. You don't incrementally learn a system. You eventually unlearn its necessary lies.

Last year this was the hot thing in Japanese Twitter hooking them up to FPGAs! xitter.cf/uCOM80/status/19773087…
DCJ-11でunix v7を動かすためにTangConsoleに大容量(40MB!)のHDD(RP03)を実装。磁気テープのレコードシークがうまく動かないので騙し騙し先頭からの読み込みで対処しながらHDDにインストール成功。一応起動したけど滅茶苦茶遅い。これは使い物にならない。v1はサクサクで良かったなあ。#PDP11 #unixv7

A technology and computer-themed website Macotakara.jp showcases an application by Fountain Interactive developed for the iPhone Duo. You can find emulations of many iconic machines there. Have fun! 😍🍎👍🏻
