Friends, I could really use some help. A large group of Amish builders from Ohio are spending the next FIVE MONTHS fixing homes damaged by Hurricane Helene for FREE in Western North Carolina and South Carolina. There's just one problem... the Amish don't drive, so they need drivers to take them back and forth to job sites and drop off trailers (if you have a truck). I have already volunteered to help, but we need more volunteers. If you feel led and are in the area, there's a sign up sheet in the comments. You'll get free breakfast and free dinner too + you'll get to meet some of the heroes who have been working here to rebuild.

PRAYERS UP right now, as Texans are lining highways and overpasses to honor the slain deputy, who was hit in a barrage of some 800 bullets, as his body makes its final journey home to a wife and 3 children— including a newborn. He was 31. The gunman unleashed more than 800 ROUNDS at law enforcement while helping serve felony warrants near Canton. Behind that badge was a husband and father whose family had just welcomed another baby into the world. His wife, Kyleigh, described Adam as brave, strong and kind. A man who laughed hard and loved even harder. Now she’s facing the unimaginable task of raising their three young children without him. And today, another heartbreaking chapter unfolds. Adam’s body is being escorted from the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office to Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. The procession will travel along I-35, Woodall Rodgers Freeway, I-45, Highway 175 and I-20. The Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office is asking Texans, firefighters and fellow officers to stand along the route and on overpasses to honor a man whose life was taken so violently. RIP.

STOP SHOOTING MY POLICE OFFICERS!!!!
A JEFFERSON PARISH DETECTIVE WAS SHOT ANSWERING A SUSPICIOUS PERSON CALL. It happened around 5pm Monday in unincorporated Gretna, Louisiana. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office says the narcotics detective was hit once. He's stable at UMC. JPSO says the suspect was shot multiple times and is also stable. Once he's released, he'll face multiple charges. A second suspect is still out there. A suspicious person call is supposed to be routine, and Monday it wasn't. This detective went to check it out anyway, the way good cops do every single shift. Gretna, if you know something about that second suspect, will you call JPSO today? H/t: WDSU and FOX 8

Friends, Have symptoms but no answers? Tired of being told, “Oh, that’s just because your child has Down syndrome”? We’re living that. Our son Iron Will has significant immune system issues, and we’re learning how to care for him and how to advocate for him within the medical system. Watch this video from my wife, Cathy. She shares our journey and why this Wednesday’s webinar matters so much. Understanding Immune Dysregulation: What Parents Need to Know 🗓 Wednesday, October 28 | 7:00 PM Central | FREE With Dr. Melissa Gans, Pediatric Allergist and Immunologist at the University of Miami When a child’s immune system isn’t regulating properly, the signs can be confusing, inconsistent, and easy to overlook. Symptoms can show up across multiple systems of the body with no clear explanation and no obvious place to turn. It’s overwhelming, especially when doctors won’t look past the diagnosis to find out what’s actually going on. Dr. Gans will explain immune dysregulation from a parent’s perspective: · What it looks like in everyday life · Symptoms you shouldn’t overlook · Available testing and treatment · How to find the right medical team This is the first in a series of sessions on recognizing, diagnosing, and treating immune dysregulation in people with Down syndrome. Register for the webinar here: teamironwill.app.neoncrm.com… Please share this post and invite others, whether or not they have a loved one with Down syndrome. You never know who needs it. Thank you! #TeamIronWill #ChampionHopeForLife #DownSyndromeAwarenessMonth
