Great points on creative team seniority distribution. The maddening part is that it’s changing ALL. THE. TIME. Today you’re 1 senior, 1 mid, 2 junior, 4 intern. Next year you’re 2 senior, 0 mid, 5 junior, 1 intern. Design your model to adapt or not. Either way, it’s hard.
Team structure is critical to getting the right amount of leverage & ensuring high-cost talent is delegating lower-paid work. A table like this helps visualize a few different scenarios & get a feel for the team you might have. Let's walk through a few & point out pros/cons. 1/

Three ways even the best agency SOPs fail: ❌ They live in a format that is difficult to intuitively filter & search. ❌ They aren’t integrated with recurring tasks in your PM system. ❌ There’s no policy in place for periodic review, flagging updates, or assigning ownership.

In a world that glorifies productized services, lean into solving large complex, unique problems with customized tailored services. Do so in a way that’s impactful and efficient, while pricing it fairly based on the value you create. You win big when you help clients win big.

Ops is pushing for more standardization to sustain growth, strategists are looking for more latitude to test & experiment, account directors are begging for resources, & biz dev is sick of being the bad guy for selling a shiny new strategy that no one is prepared to execute yet.
As a 13 year agency-side strategist, do I feel there’s a deficiency in my client management skills? No, not really. But do I believe Tom’s course will provide tremendous value and give me additional tools to level up my game? Absolutely 100%. I’m in, let’s do this! 🤜🤛
The next SEO MBA course is going to be all about client management. Designed for agency SEOs want to level up their client communication skills. I'm running two course betas - starting next week. Only a handful of seats left for both betas! Info: seomba.com/course-beta/

When the amount of Google AdSense units plastered all over @untappd’s web product reminds you of content farm affiliate sites from 2008 👀
As a non-designer, what tools are you using to mock up UX/UI strategy recommendations for your design team? Figma? Sketch? Something else?

That feeling when you’re getting sooo close to spinning up a streamlined semi-productized service offering for your agency and a big juicy complex custom consulting opportunity comes up…
CANNOT WAIT for @ahrefs Content Gap tool to catch up to its V2 products. ⏳

Is it just me or does communicating SEO opportunity using Ahrefs’ Traffic Value feel like it should be your LAAAAAST resort? It is so unrealistic of a concept for most pages, I’d rather use almost any other data point in the toolset. 🤷‍♂️
