Today would have been @DrMayaAngelou's 95th birthday. As a girl, she endured trauma and abuse that actually led her to stop speaking. But as a performer and writer, she found her voice—a voice that has spoken to millions, and inspired countless others over the years.
ALT President Barack Obama awards the 2010 Presidential Medal of Freedom to Dr. Maya Angelou in a ceremony in the East Room of the White House on February 15, 2011.

The @CommonsDCMS report is DAMNING.
It brilliantly takes each issue in turn and arrives at a conclusion on the balance of evidence.
In every single instance it reflects an industry that is pocketing a fortune while failing UK performers and songwriters.

Not so long ago I was told by people in the music industry that as I was a woman over 40 yrs of age I was wasting my time still making music. I forged ahead with it regardless, and made ’11 past the hour’… I just got told I am very close to #1 in Ireland and top 5 in the U.K!!!!
