If you gained weight during this global pandemic (or literally any other time), it’s okay. Bodies change! You don’t need to crash diet or do a cleanse, reset, or detox. Your body is wise. Your body can be trusted. Keep eating. – at Brooklyn, NY

Client: But this food isn’t healthy! Me: Is being terrified of eating certain foods healthy? How about feeling enormous amounts of guilt and shame after eating? Or needing to compensate for this “unhealthy” food in some way? It’s time to reevaluate what health actually means.🙏🏼 – at Brooklyn, NY

*whispers* no one survives any illness by sheer force of will power, and talking about individual strength and resilience as a marker of health is severely damaging to everyone, but especially to sick & disabled people, and anyone afflicted with mortality

Plz, no more references to weight as COVID risk factor; you are causing increased general health risk by upping weight stigma & anxiety. Don't be that person. If there is a COVID/weight link, remember weight is a proxy for many confounders: stigma, class, race, comorbidities...

“I’m going to get diabetes from eating this meal” is not funny or cute. You’re perpetuating the myth that diabetes is a personal failing when it’s a lot more complex than a meal you ate + largely genetic. You’re stigmatizing and shaming those who have diabetes. Stop.
