I jumped on Twitter this evening to participate in a Wheel of Time book club thing I read about (I’ve never read the series). Instead of doing that I found out that I’ll never use hapi in a project ever.

Around two weeks ago, I put up a tweet about how I was laid off due to an intended acquisition along with several other incredible folk. The response from that tweet was astounding. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who reached out.

Obviously, on top of everything else, this continues to be a haul. But between the moral support, often from total strangers, and people offering potential opportunities, this has been much better than it could have been.

Again, thank you. Y'all all have my sincerest gratitude.

A little over a week ago, the world rejoiced when GitHub announced their intention to acquire npm. A few days later, after nearly a year as a staff engineer at npm, I was laid off along with some other excellent engineers and employees. Naturally, I am now looking for work.

And while beggars can't be choosers, it would be wonderful if your opportunity was tied to a socially progressive service or something that allowed me to engage with creative communities. My DMs are open.

Many other wonderful people who I mentored and worked with have also been victim to this layoff. There are remarkable people. I really want to see these fantastic folk continue on in their careers. I am happy to pass along anything to them as well.

I know literally nothing about 3D graphics rendering. But this was a fun exercise by @NoahRosamilia in the second #pico8 zine.

And then with a couple of coordinate changes I could really make a mess of things. And that makes it even more fun!

I really enjoyed playing around with this #pico8 Game of Life tutorial by @dan_sanderson.

I’ve been really enjoying my exploration of game development & design with #pico8. This is the result of doing a particles tutorial from a zine walk through. Fun stuff!

That time in X-Men #9 when Scott feels bad so Bobby makes ice cubes out of his sweat and Hank serves him iced tea with his feet. instagram.com/p/B2naKBNFeuk/…
“Are they intentionally on video mute?” This is a question I ask myself at least several times a week. I wonder whether the UX of video chat tools are intentionally so dubious to at least allow for the possibility that the person on the other end of the line to have an excuse.

My favorite is when it is a two person conversation and one person is on video and the other person is off video.

True facts: I can barely talk to my camera if I am on video and the person I am talking with isn’t. But I also can’t bring myself to turn off my video. What’s wrong with me?? 😂
