This in turn helps prevent vector-borne diseases (malaria, dengue, Zika etc.) and cuts the need for toxic pesticides to protect crops. These solutions are highly effective, environmentally friendly and sustainable.

CRISPR Gene Drive in Culex mosquitoes out in @natcomms. Great work by my former Postdoc @XuechunFeng_ in collaboration with @AlpheyLab. We use a split drive to evaluate homing at two loci and employ a marked-chromosome strategy to count homing events in a low-efficiency system.
