This is an incredibly stupid comparison 1. No American companies would care because America isn’t a communist and soft country 2. Mbappe memes are specifically dictator memes so he just said which dictator meme is his favorite No way to defend this, China is not a serious country nor is any communist country The closeted communist countries like England aren’t any better either
I know a lot of people in the West are baffled by the Mbappé-Mao storm in China - which in itself shows that Mbappé's ignorance doesn't come out of nowhere... To understand it, here's the best analogy I could think of: imagine the biggest Chinese star in the NBA, with sponsorship deals all over the US. One day he's asked for his favorite meme of himself. He giggles: "the one where they put my face on some guy, I think he was an American slave owner." When the "some guy" in question is George Washington. Whatever you think of the label, you know exactly how that would land in the US: an ungrateful foreigner getting rich off Americans, laughing at the country's founding father in an offensive way - at least to a big share of the population - without even knowing his name. A founding father is the story a nation tells itself about where it comes from. Laugh at him as a foreigner while cashing in on that nation's consumers, and that's not going to go well in any country. The label is also extremely un-nuanced: yes, all important historical figures have their share of darkness and Washington and Mao are no exception. China actually recognizes this: the official line is that he was "70% right and 30% wrong," and the Party's 1981 resolution condemned how his "personal arbitrariness gradually undermined democratic centralism in Party life and the personality cult grew graver and graver" (marxists.org/subject/china/d…) Same for Washington: it's officially acknowledged too. Or at least it was until this year: in January, the National Park Service tore down an exhibit in Philadelphia about the people Washington enslaved there, under a Trump executive order targeting content that "inappropriately disparage[s]" Americans (associationforpublicart.org/…). Which goes to show China isn't uniquely touchy about its founding father...

If you’re still talking about the state of pumpfun and memecoins may i suggest pivoting your energy elsewhere? You’re wasting your precious God given life energy or something that doesn’t exist anymore. Nigga, it’s over.

If you’re one of the early fomo investors that keep bragging they’re early investors you better pray for acquisition or ipo because that shit ain’t the future

My thoughts on the “crypto celebrities” None of it is relatable or scalable, the current pump / fomo culture that is shoved down your throat by out of touch paid kols is destined for zero. Included fomo with pump cause it is pretty much one and the same, identical values
i better not say what i think about ansem and tjr and banks and the types of them cause someone said if you don’t have a single good thing to say about something don’t say anything at all so there’s that

Every time i go on vacation and take some time off ct then come back to read the TL, initial thought is cringing at myself for being part of the gayfest crypto twitter is. This time around more than ever, i think there are very few things gayer than the current state of ct and with that crypto in general

Basically you have no idea how lucky we are that Mexico isn’t a muslim country
You have no idea how lucky we are to be closer to Mexico than North Africa or Pakistan.

Much like viral memes and characters, coins that take longer to break out of their initial echo bubble are more likely to sustain attention than their rushed counterparts. With memes and characters, the attention feels less forced. With coins, it also makes the narrative less vulnerable to the usual “it’s a bundle / it’s a scam” takes. That makes it easier for people to buy higher and harder for early entrants to justify selling, unlike fast-pumping new pairs, where early buyers are often more inclined to take profits and trigger a dump. If you believe majors are going higher, memecoins aren’t dead, and the game isn’t as solved as most people think, these types of coins are at least worth looking for. Maybe it is solved. Maybe the pudding is elsewhere. But these types of coins are still worth the hunt imo.
