Hier, en une seule journée, en France, cinq églises ont été incendiées par des musulmans qui veulent détruire le christianisme. Ceux qui ont commis ces actes ont montré une âme violente et criminelle, dépourvues de civilisation et de sensibilité 😡

I’ve noticed something amongst those of us who supported DeSantis in the primary. Some of us did not want Trump at all, I was in that group, some of them waffled back and forth but ultimately voted for DeSantis in the primary but when Trump won they supported Trump. I was not in that group. I did eventually vote for him but it made me nauseated. When he won I did what I always do, called balls and strikes and applaud what I agree with and criticize what I didn’t. What’s weird to me is the ones who decided to go ahead and support Trump and vote for him now can’t stand him. Some who never did support or vote for him can’t stand him and are now voting for democrats. That is absolutely disgraceful in my opinion but I do understand disliking Trump. As for me, nothing in the world could make me vote for a Democrat just to spite MAGA or try to get rid of MAGA. That’s moronic. Democrats will come for you regardless. My rule is never let anyone drag me down so far as to hate them so much that I will abandon everything I ever believed in. My position on things may change with the situation I find myself in but what I believe in won’t.

Beyond the Laughs: John Candy's Secret Contract to Care for the Crew Hollywood Forgot While filming Planes, Trains and Automobiles in 1987, the shoot was brutal: icy winds, deep snow, and long days in rural Illinois. Most stars hid in heated trailers between takes. But John Candy stayed outside. He chatted with crew members, offered encouragement, and handed out fresh, hot coffee he'd arranged himself, knowing the catering truck's brew was lukewarm. Candy's compassion wasn't a one-time gesture. It was a condition of his success. The Man Who Fed the Crew During the making of Uncle Buck, Candy noticed that younger crew members were often left to survive on vending machine snacks because the budget only covered meals for lead talent. Without notifying a single producer, Candy quietly hired a hot food truck at his own expense, ensuring the entire team had something warm and substantial to eat. He believed no one should work hard under tough conditions and go unfed. Director Chris Columbus, who worked with him on Only the Lonely, recalled how Candy learned every single crew member’s name by the third day. Each morning began with a personal greeting, and each night ended with a handshake and a genuine "thank you." When a birthday was overlooked by production, Candy quietly organized a surprise cake and music between scenes. Beyond the Spotlight His approach came from his early years at Toronto's Second City, where he hauled equipment and cleaned stages long before fame hit. That experience instilled a deep respect for every job on set. On Splash, when a sudden downpour threatened to destroy cameras, Candy didn't run for cover. He stayed behind, joking with the tech crew while helping them haul and save thousands of dollars worth of gear. On a freezing night shoot for The Great Outdoors, he noticed shivering crew members. He immediately ordered portable heaters and blankets from a local supplier, covering the cost himself. He famously refused preferential treatment. Once, learning the crew was crammed into coach while stars sat in first class on a flight, Candy gave up his first-class seat to a weary camera assistant and sat in the back without telling anyone. John Candy never sought recognition for these acts. He never mentioned them in interviews. Directors and co-stars only began sharing these stories after his passing. To Candy, true success wasn't about the size of the trailer. It was about uplifting the people behind the scenes. In a business obsessed with stars, John Candy made it his mission to honor the people who made the magic happen. His legacy rests on the quiet warmth and humanity he showed to the people the industry often overlooks.

Since this worked better than expected the last time— I'm announcing my next project here and, given how big of a story I expect it to be, I'm announcing it as a potential duology: Beyond the Dread Gate and Within the Spiral City (Books One and Two, both working titles). The story is intended as a dark fantasy reimagining of The Odyssey with the flavor of Bloodborne. I've put a summary below: The city of Dredgate was cursed: misfortune and evil magic consumed it, its monarchs have vanished and the city's inhabitants abandoned it decades ago. Now blood-thirsty monsters and doomed souls roam the streets and environs within the city's walls. Time bends back on itself inside Dredgate: anyone who enters may be lost for days or weeks at a time, if they escape at all. The only souls willing to enter are Hunters, brave explorers who go searching for the city's lost riches and for "dross," objects afflicted by Dredgate's reality-warping magics—for a price. The greatest source of riches within the city is the King's Heart, a treasure trove of gold and dross said to be found at the city's center, one so great that it would make any Hunter rich beyond his wildest dreams. Many Hunters have sought to find and extract the Heart. None have survived or succeeded. Rex is the oldest Hunter still in the game, compelled to continue exploring Dredgate, going back again and again, unwilling to abandon the city to its dark fate. When he's shown proof that the King's Heart is real and offered a share of the reward to retrieve it, Rex leads one last expedition to locate the Heart and get it out of Dredgate—if he can survive the trip. These books (assuming two books are needed) will be released sequentially when they're finished. For those curious, I intend to start on Armistice (Spellswords Saga Book Four) after Dredgate is complete. As before, the covers below are AI mockups simply presented for flavor purposes and do not represent the final product. Thank you.

Pendragon Cycle update. 5 out of 7 episodes down. It is still just incredible. Wanted to finish it yesterday but a friend had a tree fall on his garage so we were chopping that up yesterday and all day today. Can't wait to finish it off this weekend. Such a great show.

So, since I posted that several hours ago, I have seen the episode in question. I couldn't sleep because I'm sick and so are the kids, so I turned on The Pendragon Cycle. This is my assessment of the outrage over the "nudity" in this episode: --There is no nudity. At all. You see more bare shoulder and back at a high school prom. --The two people in question had not only just half a scene ago been baptized, they were also married. Which means skin is allowed between them. --It is filmed in such a beautiful, tasteful fashion that instead of being objectionable, it is praiseworthy. Taliesin kissing Charis is gentle and loving, not passionate and sucking the lips off each other's face. He's entitled, she's his wife, but that's not what was shown. He unties the tassels of her nightgown and lets it fall. You see one more kiss, and then fade to black. --Anybody outraged by two married Catholics loving each other and quite obviously having sex WHILE NONE OF IT IS SHOWN ON SCREEN has a major scrupulosity problem and should seek the nearest priest or pastor of your choice. --If the parties in question aren't scrupulous, then the outrage is purely performative. I'm guessing it's a case of Catholic Bashing in the First Degree, but that is a separate problem. --Objectively, there is NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT OF SIN in the performance in question. The answer to the "bad sex" being pushed by our current fallen culture isn't "no sex." It's "good sex." Between two married people with a fade to black. I will once again quote Victor Hugo (slightly paraphrased because I have a sick toddler asleep on my chest and I can't go get the book off the shelf), when he talked about the wedding of Marius and Cosette: "At the door to the wedding chamber stands an angel with his finger to his lips." We never need to see what happens beyond that door. But, showing a fallen culture that there is beauty and holiness in the loving relationship of a husband and wife is EXACTLY what we need to do. So, enough with the performative outrage. Get a life, and enjoy the show. If you can't see the goodness and beauty in that portrayal, seek spiritual direction immediately. Because that's a you problem, not the show's problem. Now that I've seen the episode, I stand by my original statement.
Dude. There's more skin on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. If THAT is a near occasion of sin for you, that's a you problem, not an art problem. Find a spiritual director and let the rest of us alone.
