A narcissist wants you to respect their feelings, ignore your own, understand their anger, excuse their cruelty, and apologise for reacting to it.
Manipulative people sometimes literally (and sometimes angrily) treat truth and basic accountability like "anger" or an "attack".
Now I get it, anger issues are wrong in men or in women; but basic ethical accountability is a far cry from a personal attack or anger issues.

It’s strange how someone can remember every mistake you’ve made but forget every sacrifice you made for them.
The truth about the narcissist is that they're controlling, insecure, insensitive and selfish. This is why they work overtime to create a false image of extreme innocence, overdone victim-hood, and excessive harmlessness. It's the tell.
Don't confuse someone's ability to talk about making sacrifices for you, for someone's ability and willingness to actually get out on the front lines, and go through hell to really make that sacrifice.
Someone needs to hear this....
The right boundaries will push the wrong people away from you naturally.
But the wrong boundaries will push the right people away from you just as naturally.
Losers play upon negative feelings like hatred and jealousy, because they are weak, and cannot play upon nobler feelings like courage and compassion.
The strong disdain to envy, and the noble scorn to be jealous. True honor goes beyond such petty emotions.
No true friend ever tried to control you and take away your free understanding of life and reality for their ego.
The fact is, nobody who actually cares about you will purposefully mislead you about reality and how things work and are meant to work.
The weird thing about hurtful people is that they act like you regret "losing" them, ROFL.... regret someone leaving who enjoyed hurting me? Hell no
