"stochastic parrot" was a mimetically-fit cognitive virus that spread from 2021-2025; it temporarily blinded many gifted people to the nature of AI progress, burning up crucial years in which they could have helped think through the response to the situation.

This is significantly better than any scene in any current sci fi cinema in recent history.
Life has definitely become a lot more interesting than art lately. Art is like sadly limping along trying to be as interesting as life. I am fairly convinced that the top creative talent is not actually in the arts at the moment.
The state of technology is arguably the most compelling it's ever been on a philosophical level

Excited to share our latest research on red teaming and agent safety from SEAL team at @scale_AI .
This work highlights a critical gap: safety mechanisms in advanced LLMs do not generalize well to downstream browser agents. We also found that LLM attacks transfer with high success, reaching 100% ASR in some cases. This underscores the need for new safety measures tailored to LLM agents.
We believe it is more than just a responsibility on the shoulders of LLM developers and AI policymakers to improve agent safety. We urge the broader community of agent developers to actively engage in assessing and improving agent safety to address domain-specific risks.
(1/7) Excited to share our new red teaming work at Scale, Refusal-Trained LLMs Are Easily Jailbroken As Browser Agents. We find jailbreaking LLM agents that use browsers is surprisingly easy. In many cases, you can just direct ask!

Interesting results that suggest that the current automated jailbreak attacks are still _very_ weak compared to manually written ones.
I think too many people draw parallels with Lp robustness where automated attacks (based on PGD) worked very well in 99% cases. The picture is very different for LLM jailbreaking.
There is definitely much more work to do on the attack side!
