I have 1 rule when it comes to communal or ancestral rural land - i do not invest in immovable property exceeding US $10 000. That is the loss I am willing to incur if the inevitable were to happen.

Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri has revealed that Zimbabwe Defence Forces soldiers are facing severe hardships due to delayed Treasury funding, with some forced to borrow ceremonial uniforms while living in barracks without water and electricity.
She said the ministry received just 25% of its required uniform budget, while poor salaries have also affected morale.
The funding crisis has further stalled major projects, including the 97%-complete Manyame Hospital, which remains unopened due to a lack of money to equip it.

Weeks after the hailstorm, Masvingo families are still waiting for help to rebuild their homes.
Masvingo councillors have raised concern over delays in government assistance for residents whose homes were damaged by hailstorms on October 5, 2026.
Speaking during a recent Full Council meeting, Ward 7 Councillor Rivhard Musekiwa said affected families were growing increasingly frustrated after submitting quotations detailing the damage, but receiving no communication on when the promised support would be delivered.
