Encyclopedic, nuanced and witty history of psychology's ethical and scientific missteps in the service of racism. Erudite, refreshing, and so far as it illuminates a shameful history of racial slander and exclusion, infuriating. A delightful read

The afterlife is uncertain, but having two birds in hand right now is a guaranteed win. Why gamble on the unknown? 💀😂

Do you remember when school girls would decorate their afro puffs with these flowers?
The flowers are Ixora, commonly known as jungle flame, coralillo or bola de coral in the Caribbean. Its a tropical flowering shrub in the coffee family originating in Asia.
The Caribbean's beauty and botanical traditions exist within a history of forced migration, cultural survival, and knowledge that enslaved people carried, adapted, and passed down. Africans were not just laborers in Caribbean landscapes; they were knowledgeable cultivators, healers, and agents in the creation of Caribbean plant culture. 🪴❤️

It's just hips moving to beats that offend puritanical indoctrination abt "the proper way" for a woman's body to move. I see HBCU dance teams receiving similar dismissal from onlookers who don't realize they're engineering & social work majors w/15 years of dance lessons

How do you know she didn't do a fantastic presentation at work that morning? Is it hip movement that convinced you she could "only" push her bottom out?
