A decade ago, Zcash $ZEC went live. Here’s how far Zcash has come: − Shipped ten network upgrades as a research-driven protocol − Became the largest privacy-preserving digital asset by market capitalization at $21B¹ − Pioneered the first widespread use of zk-SNARKs − 25 second block times with the upcoming upgrade − Gained institutional interest, The Zcash ETF $ZCSH crossed $1B AUM within a month of launch Happy 10 years, Zcash. Job’s not finished.

Frontier tech and crypto are converging. Crypto projects part of the AI buildout: $DATA → Licensing and verifying AI training data. $CHIP → Financing GPU hardware through onchain loans. $PEARL → Merging proof-of-work with AI compute, letting miners earn rewards while powering compute. Onward🙌🏻
Zcash was built on conviction, cryptography and uncompromising discipline. Took time. No hype. Just math. Someone told me today: "If you told everyone at ZODL they wouldn't get paid for the next three months, they'd just say ok." It’s just how it is. All in. Onward.

The opportunity in digital assets is expanding, and our Q3 performance shows it. Q3 was our strongest quarter of the year with net flows up ~$1.2B from Q2, and we ranked #1 in AUM among HYPE, Sui and Chainlink ETPs.¹ At our town hall, we recognized the team behind that progress. This quarter's results show what our teams can accomplish through shared ambition and focus.

AI's next constraint isn't software. It's physical compute. Grayscale AI Compute ETF ($GCPU) is now trading, investing in the companies powering the future of AI compute. Available through any brokerage or investment account.

Making digital assets easier to manage makes them more accessible. We're lowering the barriers to in-kind transfers across select @Grayscale products to bring the benefits of ETPs to more eligible investors. Through an in-kind transfer, investors can convert digital assets they already own into shares of a Grayscale ETP without needing to sell into cash. As digital assets become a larger part of investors' financial lives, we're committed to finding new and innovative ways to help them manage those holdings within their broader portfolios. Very cool research from the Grayscale team: Bitcoin’s one-year realized volatility is 43%, down from a 10-year average of 64% and 81% five years ago. That’s now lower than 19% of S&P 500 constituents.

“Tokenization, stablecoins, and tokenized deposits will all run on smart contract platforms like $ETH and $SOL.” Hot take from our Head of Research @LowBeta: Attention is flowing to emerging narratives while overlooking the infrastructure that makes them possible.
NEW: @Grayscale Head of Research @LowBeta joined us @token2049 to warn that investors may be sleeping on $ETH and $SOL as main beneficiaries in the next wave of the crypto cycle: "The smart contract platforms ... are not a consensus trade"

That’s a wrap on TOKEN2049 Singapore! 🇸🇬 A few key takeaways I wanted to share: 💡 1. Crypto is entering a more mature phase. As the industry matures, we’re gradually filtering out speculative use cases and focusing on what blockchain can fundamentally transform. To me, the most exciting opportunity is rebuilding capital markets on-chain, creating a more programmable, efficient, and interconnected financial system. 2. AI + Crypto: The next wave of innovation. In the age of AI, privacy and security matter more than ever. As AI agents become capable of managing assets and executing transactions, blockchain could provide the infrastructure for programmable payments and automated settlement. The potential is exciting, but security, compliance, and trust are essential to making it work at scale. 3. Stablecoins are reshaping global payments. Stablecoins are bridging traditional finance and blockchain, enabling faster settlement, more efficient liquidity management, and lower cross-border payment costs. Combined with AI-driven automation, they could fundamentally reshape how money moves globally and how businesses manage capital. 4. RWA + DeFi: Bringing investment opportunities on-chain. More institutions are exploring tokenization, but bringing assets on-chain alone doesn’t create liquidity. The bigger opportunity lies in building infrastructure for secondary-market trading, collateral management, and efficient settlement, ultimately improving capital efficiency and expanding access to investment opportunities. Interoperability, liquidity, and risk management remain critical. 5. Prediction Markets: A new layer of information and risk management. Platforms like Polymarket and Kalshi are bringing prediction markets into broader financial conversations. I’m particularly interested in how prediction-market signals could intersect with AI to support investment research, portfolio management, and risk assessment. Market integrity and regulatory clarity will be key as the space evolves. My biggest takeaway? We’re moving toward a more programmable financial system. Stablecoins move value. Tokenization brings assets on-chain. DeFi enables new financial functionality. Prediction markets provide new information signals. And AI could make these systems increasingly intelligent and automated. The challenge is connecting everything through secure, interoperable, and compliant infrastructure. There’s still a lot to build, and that’s what makes this industry so exciting! 🚀#Token2049

Before heading to Singapore for TOKEN2049, I stopped by my hometown to spend some time with family in China—where my journey began. A lot has changed, but the dream I carried with me all those years ago hasn’t. In 2012, I came to the U.S. for my master’s degree. Around that same time, I read Satoshi Nakamoto’s Bitcoin white paper for the first time. As an international student, the idea of a permissionless, decentralized financial system fascinated me. A few years later, I found my way into the crypto ecosystem and have been building and advocating for this space ever since. Today, we’re working toward something I’ve believed in for a long time: a more programmable capital market. I believe that over the next decade, blockchain technology will become increasingly embedded in our financial infrastructure—so seamlessly that eventually, we may not even think about the technology underneath it. Looking back at where the journey started, I feel incredibly grateful to be working alongside so many smart, kind, and hardworking people. What continues to inspire me most is that, through every cycle, builders keep building, improving, and pushing the industry.#Token2049
