After 43 years working in the stone industry, I retired on 19th January 2024.
Thanks to the many clients & architects for entrusting me with their stone projects.
My aim was always to guide them professionally & diligently in an ever changing world.
With best wishes to all.

Beautiful design and detailing - in traditional style - amply illustrating how the use of natural stone can enhance a project
Monday 1st December 1980... my very first day working in the UK natural stone industry. So, today marks the 40th anniversary of that, and working in the wider UK construction industry. How things have changed in 4 decades, some for the better, some for the worse - still learning!
We have been busy supplying and laying over 600 sq. metres of 50mm external paving, steps and tumbled setts - in beautiful Fletcher Bank, UK sourced, sandstone - to our latest private residential project, with the help of the excellent @matherellisltd
A lovely palette of natural materials - buff coloured Yorkstone, light honey oak and dark blue slate - timeless design, sustainability and craftmanship in harmony.
A newly constructed portico, in a traditional design, at our latest private residential project - in beautiful Hillhouse Edge Yorkstone, with columns worked to entasis - all supplied and fixed by Graham Goldthorpe Stonemasonry Ltd.
Roy Castle - local lad from Scholes near Holmfirth. Supremely talented, funny, lovely man. We hired him to perform at @hepworthband centenary concert, Huddersfield Town Hall 1982 - brought the house down and did it all for free. He loved to be home. A great and proud Yorkshireman
