We have to confirm the news spreading around the internet: Alex Rochon is not able to attend the Grand Rapids Comic-Con. The reason listed online is also true: he really wants to attend but his VISA paperwork on the Canadian side will not be completed in time. We are sorry, but it looks like bureaucracy is blocking this from happening. The rest of the cast from 'The Amazing Digital Circus" are attending as scheduled. Alex does have a free standing invitation to attend one of our future events so we are hoping to be able to reschedule Alex soon. On the positive, we just confirmed a couple guests that are not from ADC but have crossover appeal with that fanbase that will be announced by the end of the week. One was an obvious omission from the "Hazbin Hotel" gathering we did last November so people can complete that autograph collection, and the second is a major voice from an upcoming animated musical whose original recordings have received 2.1 billion downloads (that is not a typo) on Spotify and is being referred to as "the next big thing" so there is a definite crowd for this. We are one of the very first shows in the country that will feature this before its release so keep an eye out.

Tickets are still available at select comic and gaming shops in West Michigan. Tickets are selling more briskly than usual--a few stores have asked for restocks so if you plan on buying at a store you probably should not wait until the last minute. The Grand Rapids Comic-Con has partnered with the Urban League of West Michigan to create a scholarship program for economically disadvantaged youth in Kent County. Participating students will receive two 3-day tickets (one for the student and the other for a parent/guardian) to be able to attend the show free of charge so they can explore careers in art, writing, film, digital media, gaming, streaming and creative entrepreneurship. If you are a student in Kent County, Michigan--public, private, or homeschooled--and is of high school age that has an economic barrier are welcome to apply. The link is below. This one is a British TV and movie star whose work includes starring in a current UK crime drama and being a foil in a couple well known nerdy imports. Over here he is best known for being the antagonist for a couple seasons to this guy and his rag tag team of exhausted survivors. This is a rare one. Midnight.
