"Across our state there's a big concern about the declining numbers in girls basketball."
Talked with MHSA’s Brian Michelotti about why Montana has lost 800+ players since ’03‑04, and what’s driving it.

Griz football has had its share of elite playmakers, but rarely have 3 distinct stars - in this case QB Keali'i Ah Yat, RB Eli Gillman and WR Brooks Davis - coalesced so perfectly at the same time.
Check it out (and I appreciate you, @VoiceoftheGriz):

Godspeed to all news staffs on this election night. The deadline pressure will be intense. Win/lose contingency plans will be necessary. The bigwigs will spring for pizza and hail your efforts via all-staff emails tomorrow.
Now go out there and do what Sports does every night!

Jon Husted, who sponsored the bill to cap international athletes at 20% of NCAA rosters, lost his Senate seat tonight. That bill hasn't gone anywhere and isn't going anywhere.
Follow-up story (+ video from @khansen406) on Kent Haslam's new 1-year deal at Montana.
Plenty of insight from the AD on general scrutiny, a viral fan criticism of athletic funding, and where he and the department can improve the most. @montanasports

Always fun to look back at where some of these guys got started.
Long journey to the #WorldSeries

It's been six years since the Pioneer League was stripped of its Professional Development License with MLB, but for now the league's legacy remains alive on baseball's biggest stage - as @Brewers 2B Brice Turang and others have shown.

Students from NC A&T (the largest HBCU) marching back from going to vote. The county closed the polling place on campus. Students marched to town to vote anyway. A&T is where @RevJJackson went to school. His legacy lives on. linkedin.com/posts/todd-simm…

Look at that last number.
23 million to move from one FBS league to another.
If you think the move up from FCS is going to be cheaper because conferences need teams, you are sorely mistaken.
#NDSU may have gotten a bargain at 12.5.
Some numbers on JMU's move, per sources and tax docs:
- JMU expected to get American share in line w/ newer members (~$6-7m)
- Sun Belt payout was ~$2m annually
- $5 million exit fee (or more), $23 million entrance fee

Wishing for the best for Dante Moore after this #concussion with loss of consciousness and fencing.
TV broadcasters are forced to debate the penalty, not allowed to say "brain injury" or educate on how this hit could contribute to future CTE risk.

Had fun with this one (w/@SlimKimmel) as No. 10 continues to climb the Griz record book.

A decade & change after he arrived at MSU, Jeff Choate will find himself on the opposite sideline staring back at a machine he helped build.
No matter what happens, Choate's impact on the Bobcats can't be separated from what they have become.
Game on.
