Just listened to The Safe Room by Sarah A Denzil ( Audible) excellent but a disturbing story of a stalker on a woman and her whole family lasting decades.
Scary, tense and tragic all at the same time.
Saw this posted elsewhere and now have the tune as an ear worm. As well as all the other horse programmes springing to mind around in the late 60’s into 70’s and Belle & Sebastian, Skippy and Daktari!
Arch realignment today before the rain gets heavy and the wind starts getting stronger.
One is at quite an angle🤭
Gov say winds are easing! Not up here it isn’t it’s still wild garden arches are at an alarming angle, big tree is rocking and wind still sounds like a fast train going through a station.
Admire the Goldfinches on the swinging feeders, sparrows can only manage sideways flight!
I think I can safely put the summer wardrobe away.
Seems so much cooler today. Like someone switched on Autumn. 🍂
One of the funniest things to watch are the juvenile starlings fighting in the air and around the bird feeder over their lunchtime meal worms, meanwhile the Goldfinches are happily eating nyger seeds without even a glance.
Not great to see Jersey on that list.

Came across this in my photos yesterday from 6 years ago.
We have had quite a few in our garden this year.
Our weather is bonkers today, it was raining, very tricky walking Sand Street to Gloucester St in the gusts.
Return 20 mins later it’s calmer and the sun is out
Bits of trees on the roads, one trampoline trying to escape a garden and our bike shed had done a flip, now face down.
You really have to applaud the rescue ongoing in the hydropower tunnels in Nepal, what extraordinary risks they are taking in do this. Hopefully in addition to the two rescued they are able to find more. 9 days is a very long time underground in such circumstances.
#MerchantNavyDay, where would we be without those at sea including in the past crew of SS. Vega during our occupation. Now, with almost all of what we consume, use to build, and for our famous exports like the Jersey Royal potatoes, not forgetting our travel industry.

⚓Today is Merchant Navy Day!
Today we celebrate the incredible men and women of the Merchant Navy who keep our country connected, supplied and moving.
With 95% of UK trade transported by sea, their contribution is vital.
🔴 Fly the Red Ensign with pride!

What a great sky tonight!
It looks like someone with huge wings maybe a bat, about to engulf the masts.
Just seen a sparrow hawk fly across our garden under the tree up over the hedge across the road around a tree, all in a few seconds, incredibly fast flyers. Didn’t seem to have anything in its talons. Not so good for the hawk, good for the garden birds. Silent and swift flight
