Our elected officials need to understand the long term consequences of #S2. It was rushed & now many districts face a fiscal cliff. @GovMurphy

If NJ is going to cut districts in need, make no distinction between schools that opened & remained closed & underfund under-adequacy districts for political gain, how do they deserve federal $$? How do you cut a hundred + districts in a pandemic?@SecCardona @GovMurphy @ghelmy

Defunding K-12 school districts in need gives you:
A weaker, less fair New Jersey.

So you're ok with districts that are under adequacy by millions of $$ that also tax to the max being gutted by MILLIONS of $$ in state aid cuts during a pandemic because it happened to some of your districts in the past? That's your forward thinking for NJ? Wow. @GovMurphy

Only that any leader in NJ advocating we cut $$ at this time with such a disingenuous tweet really could care less about some of our communities. That tweet tells some of the story. Leaves out those communities being wrecked by #S2 on heels of pandemic. #sick
Any Twitter thoughts on the devastation of programs & staff reductions in the 200+ districts losing state aid with the current formula? Many of our communities are losing out! @NJHerald @nj_sos @HopatcongSchool @HPRwildcats @VernonTwpSD @GovMurphy @stevenoroho @DrAllenMcMillan

A reminder to the many folks taking part in today's email/ phone blitz to maintain the respect & civility we demand within our schools. This issue is urgent & important but our objectives will only be reached through productive & considerate discourse.
That said, keep calling.

S2 was touted by @NJSenatePres as providing fiscal equity for all students when the legislation was passed. Now, two years later, he declines to comment on the negative impact the bill is having on the education of a 500,000 #NJ public school students. nj.com/news/2020/02/hundreds…

We ask that the timeline of S2 be extended until the full impact of its associated funding cuts is fully understood, & that the phasing in of state aid to chronically-underfunded districts continues on the current timeline established by the bill.

Education shouldn't be a zero-sum game. These critical reforms would make sure that no student’s education suffers as we work to balance the needs of all New Jersey students. senatorgopal.com/_support_ou…

The Lenape Region’s second annual community forum on current state funding and its negative impact on our students featured nine superintendents and drew about 600 attendees. We keep our fight moving forward: thesunpapers.com/2020/02/14/…

Are influential #NJ media outlets- @nj1015 @WNYC @News12NJ @BillSpadea @NJTVNews et al - aware that state leaders like @NewJerseyDOE & @DrLRepollet refuse to reveal where $6.5 BILLION of taxpayer money is going? And that 58 districts filed an OPRA to find out? Seems like news.

The funding formula on which Bill S2 is based is now more than a decade old, and the schedule for redistributing state aid is deeply flawed. A half million #NJ public school students are being negatively impacted because of state aid reductions. #StopStateAidCuts
