There IS consensus on vegan diets for cats. It’s animal abuse. Cats are obligated to carnivores. PETA tried having a β€œvegan lion”. The animal starves because their bodies do not get the proper nutrients from plant based foods.

eating meat has never been immoral. the meat industry IS abhorrent and should be reformed, but its quite easy to access meat and dairy from ethical farming with a bit of research. poultry especially needs reform. whatever you think goes on with cattle is 100x worse with poultry.
