This is so interesting esp as someone who has dabbled with Skill making. Amazon Skill making kit for radio. 16% of people are listening to radio via them. Lead engineer @ohai_jamie guided us through the current landscape. #radTechCon

Last Friday’s outdoor fest at the inaugural #TremulaFestival was so good! Really enjoyed running an outdoor worshop. Well done @FranticT ! Useful tote provided by @RadTechCon which in 2 months in case you were wondering.

Audio and visuals now collaborate more. Previously TV could take over. I recall as I worked on early Facebook lives the battles we had over microphones being visible. Now we see mics all the time. #RadFest24

Signs I made for students last term who were reading live news bulletins based around the BBC World Service clock The skill of reading to time is not often spoken about when comparing radio to podcasts but it’s key and can improve script writing for all. As can tweet writing 🙂
Two hand written notes giving guidance to newsreaders. One is for News from Britain, start when you hear ‘world news from the BBC’ in 4 mins zero one seconds out at 6 mins a 2 minute bulletin. The other a global news bulletin of 3 minutes 30 seconds. In at 29 mins and one second and out at 32 minutes 30 seconds.

Seriously, avoid @axainsurance at all costs. About to give up trying to get through. After over 50 mins. Why not put in a callback system?

Deeply dissapointed in my dealings with @axainsurance after I was forced to cancel a long planned trip due to a sudden injury in April. Awful phonelines, quesionable medical team and an over burdened complaints system which has led me to complain to the Financial Ombudsman.

Full of admiration for my fellow judges for their knowledge and wisdom as we deliberated over our categories today. Such a high standard of entries this year made it very difficult. Thanks to the filter judges who I imagine had an even tougher time.
