I made a "Jev plays Stardew Valley"-bot Claude sets the day's strategy each morning. @typesafeai JEV then picks every single action, which tile to hoe, when to walk to Pierre's, when to go home and sleep from what the game reports it can see. Watch live: twitch.tv/farfarsnor

Yeah, it's time people accept that computers write the code now. Great speech. It's amazing how different my day-to-day work is today compared to just a year ago. It's a different world.
My god this is such a good speech that every SWE needs to hear. You know what? Every person should hear it Keep the happy memories, eyes on the reality, be excited about the future. That’s the best that anyone can do

Design, architecture, context/token engineering, choosing the right models and tools for the job. Less time writing every line of code. More time getting better at deciding what should be built, how it should work, and how to make AI build it well.
If we’re not looking at the code what should we becoming better at? I’m struggling to find a clear answer.

Give people 12 hours to “press enter” and zero minutes to think, and of course nobody’s shipping quality. Replace the AI with any other way we’ve tried to maximize developer output with no sense for what we’re actually shipping, and we’ve seen this story before.
I am done with this shit. It is over. The state of engineering right now is horrible. It has been half a month since I started a new role at a big company. Nobody knows anything here. The specs, code, tests, PRDs, tickets, resolution of those tickets, reports, etc., everything is made by Claude Code. Nobody on my team likes this. They are being forced to ship as much as they can. I have heard multiple times from higher management that pushing code is not a bottleneck, so why are we slow? People are working 12 to 13 hours a day just to press enter. Nobody is reading anything. Humans in corporate are doing nothing on their own. Everyone, literally everyone, from an L1 to an L7 engineer here is doing the same thing. Talk to Claude. There is no sense of victory. Nobody is resolving bugs. In reality, nobody is thinking anymore. Everything is done by LLMs. It is so soul-sucking. I would not mind it, to be honest, if we were at least given the time to check out the code and see what is going where. But no, the goal is to just ship. No matter what happens.

Jev doing the micro decisions and a normal LLM making the plan for the day is really good at @StardewValley

Building cool stuff with @typesafeai. Paid only $2 for almost 50 million tokens. Will share soon!

A humiliating day for Putin, as things at the St Petersburg Economic Forum start off with a bang. Despite Putin flying in all the American influencers, Ukraine just blew things up.
Luring the lowest of the low has never been a problem for Moscow. For a couple of cheap hustlers that are facing criminal charges in multiple countries - having been charged with everything from rape to fraud - it was only a matter of time before @Cobratate and @TateTheTalisman were called to pick up cash in Moscow in exchange for shilling for the genocidal regime in its dying days. This time the job is to legitimize the Russian dictator's "Petersburg Economic Forum", as few others were willing to draw the short straw in keeping the Taliban and North Koreans company. Are these two yet selling courses on how to kill time in the slammer? Well, thats what's likely in their future.

maybe this is not yet clear, so let me state it plainly: as of right now Anthropic, and really a small number of individuals at Anthropic, has the capacity to directly attack and cause major damage to the United States Government, China, and generally global superpowers. government agencies like the NSA do not have internal models or defense capabilities that outclass frontier models. if they chose to do so, they could likely exfiltrate top secret information from government systems, gain control over critical infrastructure including military infrastructure, sabotage or modify communications between members of government at the highest level, and potentially carry on activities for some time without detection. the thing about having access to a huge number of zerodays your adversaries don't know about is it gives you a massive asymmetric advantage. they did not exploit this to gain power or destabilize the world order. they publicly released the information that they had these capabilities and worked to mitigate these flaws. you should be grateful american frontier labs have proven themselves remarkably trustworthy and concerned with the public good. but it's critical you understand we are in a new regime. private entities now have power that directly rivals and impacts the government's monopoly on influence and violence. and anthropic is certainly not the only one, there's little chance OpenAI's internal models are far behind. this trend will accelerate on virtually every dimension, not slow down. my prediction for how it plays out is the relatively imminent seizure and nationalization of labs by the US government, sometime over the next two years. it's very tough for me to see how they accept the existence of this kind of threat. but this adds a whole new class of governance issues, as then we've handed these extremely wide-reaching capabilities from private entities to public ones.

The author of Clean Code is using Claude to write software. I can hardly think of a clearer indicator that coding is now officially outsourced to LLM’s. Who else is mourning the death of coding by hand ?
I'm keeping two Claude windows open. One making changes to the source code. The other helping me to plan future changes. This uses my time better since I spend a lot less time waiting for Claude to finish. The two Claudes are in two different directories, both have git repos of the project. The planning directory has rules that prevent source code changes. Only planning is allowed. I manually pull and push changes between the two.

One of Ukraine’s most successful strikes deep inside Russia might be happening right now. New footage reportedly shows Olenya Air Base with Russian Tu-bombers burning after drone hits. More visuals are surfacing—this looks really big.

Alright, ready for this? Here’s a quick thread with highlights from The 7 October Parliamentary Commission Report—also known as The Roberts Report. It’s the most comprehensive document published to date on the events of October 7, 2023, detailing thousands of incidents from that day. The report was compiled by a commission led by Lord Andrew Roberts of Belgravia—a historian and member of the UK House of Lords. Its members included Lords, Barons, and MPs from across the British political spectrum. “We added nothing that wasn’t proven. The horror needs no exaggeration.” - Lord Roberts, Chair of the Commission In this thread, I’ll share key excerpts from the report, divided into a few categories: 🔹 The numbers behind the barbaric attack 🔹 Selected quotes from Hamas terrorists during the assault—taken from Hamas’s own materials: GoPro footage, audio recordings, live streams, and social media posts 🔹 Some of the most extreme atrocities committed that day 🔹 Powerful testimony from survivors No drama. No exaggeration. Just the facts. Let’s start with the numbers: 👇
