Earth just experienced a flank hit of a #CME launched on Aug 23rd with perfect southward Bz field! However, it's not likely to continue into the night for Europe. Total field 15 nT, Dst around -100 nT, much weaker than Mother's Day event, slightly weaker than event on Aug 17th.

Glad the MetOffice is officially adopting the term #StealthCME now! This is a testament to how pro-active reporting on social media can lead to new science & ultimately move the needle when it comes to #SpaceWeather forecasts in operations. Big Thanks to those at @MetOfficeSpace!

The eruption linked to the coronal dimming (marked 2) is modeled by @MetOfficeSpace, predicting its arrival around 1 July, 12 UT, with a 30% confidence.
Dimmings could occur without eruptions, but in this case temperature changes may be ruled out.

Interesting connectivity situation today: Earth, PSP and Solar Orbiter are connected to different southern CH/CH extensions. STEREO-A connected to a small equatorial CH (less certain). Consistent with fast winds and geomag activity on Earth @STORMS_IRAP @erikapal @halocme
