If you're hearing about the lack of app support on the Duo and wagging your finger at the makers of your favorite appβ¦
+ Duo is a complicated deviceβmany poses & core UI changes.
+ Developers had 3 weeks before press units went out
+ Likely <1% were able to test on real devices
+ Expect many app updates to land before you get your device
+ Long term, it'll take time for new patterns to emerge
Lastly, app makers don't get any of the $2K+ you paid for this device and most won't make any additional $ off this work. So instead of wagging your finger, consider a hug.

Ellis @hamburger is a real one. Absolutely LOVED working with him on the wabi manifesto a while back wabi.ai/manifesto

4:3 will be great on iPhone duo
The cinematography of You Can See Everything was designed to tell the story through human faces. Lots of unusual choices:
- Ultra high length zoom lenses allowing cameras to shoot ultra-tight shots of faces without being close to the subjects. Weβre talking breathtaking 250mm zoom lenses. Youβd normally see these at sporting events.
The subjects would have no idea just how intimate these shots were going to be.
- Low apertures giving creamy bokeh that separates the faces from the scene.
- Distinctive vintage color grading by Damien Vandercruyssen that makes Elizabethβs sharp blue eyes pop off the screen. It also makes everyone look a little bit evil. Nathanβs grey hairs seem to really pop.
- An aspect ratio of 4:3 instead of the usual 1.85:1 seen in most movie theaters. the result is that faces fully fill the screen. (I found the resulting letterboxing to be annoying, but I get the art of it).
My best guess is that they want to turn Apple Music into more of a brand to compete with Spotify, and this new mark will allow artists to provide the color and emphasis in billboards ads etc

goal: find an editor for @mobbin by Dec 2026
π editors who:
- obsess over the details (yes, even 2 frames matter)
- care more about sound design than transitions
- know what to cut (to respect the viewer's time)
- know when NOT to add fancy effects
- edit with taste, NOT tiktok energy
bonus if you've worked on educational explainers / video essays on youtube (think vox, huge if true, johnny harris)
let's take it from 34,700 β 100,000 subs :)
