This is Scotland.
In Aberdeen, a migrant who can barely speak English and needs an interpreter just to understand what’s happening is handed the keys to a brand-new, taxpayer-funded house. Fucking Disgusting and makes me absolutely sick!!
Meanwhile, Scots who’ve paid into the system their whole lives are struggling to put food on the table or keep a roof over their heads. Housing waiting lists stretch for years. Veterans sleep rough. Families are priced out.
We’ve had decades of this: open the door, hand out the keys, and call anyone who questions it a bigot. The people who built and paid for this country are expected to just accept it.
This isn’t compassion. It’s a government that looks after everyone except its own.
This makes my blood boil. 😡😡
I don’t usually express my immediate reaction to stories like this as I know I’m inherently biased having served for three decades myself. However, I’ll make an exception here, as the men who were memorialised cannot speak for themselves. They gave up their lives so we could live ours and the least we can do is immortalise their memory. Our government needs to act now, a new offence of desecrating war memorials needs to be legislated and the punishment must be sufficient to act as a deterrent to the vile scum who commit acts such as this.

From October 1, 2027, a Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) will be rolled out in the UK that will reward people with a small payment for bringing back empty single-use drinks bottles and cans to dedicated collection points. These will be based at local supermarkets, such as Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s, as well as grocery stores, convenience stores and newsagents that sell drinks. The returned containers will then be recycled – and people will be repaid for their returns.
Exchange for Change, which will deliver the UK's Deposit Return Scheme, has confirmed that a flat 20p deposit will be applied to all in-scope containers as part of the upcoming scheme. This means that shoppers will get 20p back per bottle or can that they return to supermarkets, or other dedicated return points.

As a veteran this makes my blood boil. Standing on the Battle of Britain memorial waving communist flags and chanting “everyone hates the police” while the wreaths for those RAF lads are smashed below is an absolute disgrace.
Why is she allowed to stand there screaming hate at the police? If this was ordinary Brits with a Union Jack or St George’s flag doing the exact same thing, half of them would already be in the back of a van. Same streets, same laws, different rules. Two-tier Britain on full display. Except proper patriots wouldn’t be climbing all over a memorial and smashing wreaths for our fallen in the first place.
Those men gave their lives so this country could stay free – not so a bunch of ungrateful red-flag idiots could spit on their memory. Enough is enough. 🇬🇧🤬

Under UN Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) and UNCLOS, the duty of a coastal state is to STOP overcrowded, unseaworthy vessels leaving its ports.

If such a vessel is at sea and a French vessel is the first to it, the duty is to take it back to the nearest safe port - which is France.
It is NOT the duty of the UK to then take over the chaperoning of an unsuitable vessel across the Channel.
Stop them at the point of departure. Return them to France if intercepted by French assets. That's what maritime safety law actually says.
