Vatar Inc., the parent company of viral gaming sensation Lagos Life, raises $500,000 in pre-seed from some of African tech's most recognisable names – at a $10 million valuation.
Lagos Life co-founder and CEO @Shalom_HeyEliy opened and closed the round in 24 hours!
Flutterwave CEO @TechProd_Arch backed the round through his fund, @R17_Ventures, along with Terra Industries CEO @_KingNath, Mono CEO & Flutterwave Chief Product Officer @ijbguy, and Angel Investor @OoTheNigerian.
The $500,000 will go into improving the product: a premium interface, more depth, and creating more games for the company.
Lagos Life has been on a generational run. In eight days, it’s crossed 4 million players, made $170,000 in revenue, and expanded to two cities.
I have not seen anything like it in years.

The investment follows a successful pilot earlier this year. @TechProd_Arch, Flutterwave CEO, also joined the round through his fund, @R17_Ventures.
The two companies have now formed a commercial joint venture to deploy Aeon's technology for Terra's government and corporate clients across the Global South.
Everything about this deal from the growing sovereign security and defense market across the Global South, the powerful signal coming from Terra as a lead, and the deep talent across the team at Aeon feels different. The team has a lot of building to do now.
The future is looking very bright.
