Anyone to the left of Republicans should be supporting @hasanthehun and hope he wins this. Republicans have sunk to new lows in slandering Democratic voters and candidates this midterm season, from clip chimped videos about Hasan to AI generated ads filled with lies. We need to set a precedent and hold them accountable.

This morning, I spent some time with residents in our southwest Detroit community after ICE agents were stopping and arresting random people around sensitive locations, including a school.
This is the community I grew up in. This is my home. It’s heartbreaking and enraging to see my neighbors terrified, but at the same time, I’m more resolved than ever to protect our communities.
I am proud of neighbors who recorded and documented ICE. It helped us show that they were out of control. If you see ICE operations, please help us document and video record safely.
ICE doesn’t belong here or anywhere. Abolish ICE.

Leftist streamer Hasan Piker mocked injured ICE agents at a sold-out Minneapolis campaign event alongside Rep. Ilhan Omar, laughing about "funny compilations" of federal officers getting hurt during Operation Metro Surge and joking that "a lot of hip bones were broken."
The comments ignited a firestorm from conservatives and even some Minnesota Democrats. Rep. Angie Craig and Sen. Amy Klobuchar publicly condemned Piker, while Omar's campaign defended her attendance as an effort to mobilize young voters ahead of next week's midterm elections.
Piker, who previously made headlines for saying "America deserved 9/11," has become a polarizing figure on Democratic campaign trails — embraced by some, rejected by others. Omar herself is facing her own scrutiny after HSI agents searched her D.C. home earlier this month and a federal court filing identified her as "Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, aka Ilhan Abdullahi Omar."
