The Prime Minister is making dementia research a priority. This is a huge moment!
He set out an ambition for the UK to lead the world in discovering new treatments to beat dementia, alongside substantial new investment in The BARBARA Alliance.
It's a major vote of confidence in the researchers, clinicians and organisations working together to accelerate progress, remove barriers to clinical trials and accelerate progress towards new treatments.
With sustained investment, earlier diagnosis and a determination to make research accessible to everyone, we have a real opportunity to create the change that's so desperately needed.

Veteran news anchor Jon Snow has shared that he’s living with dementia, speaking publicly for the first time to raise awareness of a condition affecting around 1 million people across the UK.
Jon and his wife, neurologist Dr Precious Lunga, are supporting Alzheimer’s Society @alzheimerssoc and shared the story of Jon’s diagnosis in @DailyMail as part of our Defeating Dementia campaign with the newspaper.

We’ve partnered with Jon, in association with @Channel4, on a powerful new documentary airing on 20 June. Jon Snow: A Last Big Story looks at how he’s navigating life with dementia, and how, when we all come together, we can change the story.
Thank you to Jon and Precious for their courage and openness to bring much-needed attention to dementia 💙

Having liaised with the relevant authorities, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Manchester #MemoryWalk this year.
Following the horrendous tragedy near Heaton Park on Thursday 2 October we do not think it is appropriate to hold the event.
We’d like to take a moment to honour the lives lost and the amazing response from local residents and police.
We hope you understand our decision and we appreciate your support.
If you have any questions or concerns please email [email protected] or give us a call on 0300 330 5452.
