✊✊Union power for the POWER Act!
NYC Consumer and Worker Protection retweeted
Last week, Freelancers Union joined our allies in the labor movement to rally for the POWER Act and a simple principle: no worker should have to accept unfair treatment simply because the company on the other side is bigger and more powerful.
For freelancers, this imbalance is all too familiar. Independent workers often face powerful corporations alone, with little bargaining power or recourse when things go wrong. And as AI transforms the creative economy, artists and other creative workers face new threats to their work, livelihoods, and rights.
The POWER Act would help shift that balance by giving New Yorkers more tools to challenge unfair and abusive business practices.
We're proud to stand with our labor allies in this fight. Every worker deserves the power to stand up to corporate abuse, whether they're employed full-time or working independently.
