Orange has been my favourite HomePod mini colour ever since it launched. But I think the new green might have just stolen the top spot! 💚

First the iPhone Duo on launch day and now this. Jealously and being happy for someone is a confusing emotion 😂
Enjoying the @F1 US Grand Prix in Dolby Atmos on @AppleTV… New for audio in tvOS 27 is the ability to playback Atmos mixes to an AVR and HomePods, simultaneously, without falling back to stereo - opening up the option for HomePod pairings with subwoofers and height channels!

It’s the little things that make the Apple experience magical Setting up a HomePod mini is such a seamless experience. From the moment you bring your iPhone close, everything just works. It’s those small, thoughtful details that make the Apple experience feel special.

In all my anticipation for iPhone Duo, I couldn’t have predicted that the front screen and folded form factor would be my early highlights. Haven’t smiled this much since the launch of Apple Vision Pro.

The iPhone Duo is absolutely incredible with Apple Home🤯📱 The Apple Home app is a perfect example. You get the best of both worlds — the familiar iPhone layout when you want something quick and simple, or the more expansive iPad-style experience when you want to see and control more of your smart home. It’s all about how you want to interact with your devices, rather than having to adapt to the screen. This is Apple at its best.

🏎️🏁 Apple Maps gets an F1 upgrade for the United States Grand Prix! 🇺🇸 Apple has once again given Maps an incredible level of detail for this weekend’s @F1 Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas! Explore the circuit in stunning 3D, with impressive attention to detail, including grid boxes, driver stopping markers, kerbs, turn numbers and key points around the track. 🏎️ And it’s not just about the racing! If you’re heading to @COTA this weekend, Apple Maps has everything you need to navigate the circuit and explore Austin. 📲 Top tip: Don’t forget to download the area in Apple Maps for offline use before heading to the track, especially with thousands of fans attending! Apple really does go the extra mile with these F1 circuit experiences.

The new LG indoor camera will use HomeKit Secure Video’s recording options to control its physical privacy tilt feature. When someone arrives home, the camera can automatically stop recording and tilt down, providing clear visual reassurance that it’s no longer capturing video. The beauty of this approach is that everything is managed entirely through Apple Home. As part of the Apple Home Collection, there’s no third-party apps or services, so you don’t have to worry about footage being recorded or stored on another platform. While this feature is currently associated with LG’s camera, it’s possible Apple will open up functionality to other camera manufacturers.

The negativity surrounding Apple’s new smart home products over the last few days has been insane. Yes, the new Apple TV 4K is very expensive and has possibly priced a lot of people out. Yes, there are questions about the HomePod mini 2, especially the delay to Siri AI And when it comes to the HomeView, we’ve barely seen what it’s actually capable of if honest. Then there’s the new Apple Home Collection, it’s expansive on the face. But how does the hardware perform against similar and cheaper priced kit? But I think we need to keep an open mind. Despite all the “hands-on” coverage, nobody has really had the opportunity to live with these products, test them properly or see how they perform in a real environment. I’m not saying Apple has got everything right, and I’m certainly not going to defend. But equally, I’m not going to write these products off before I’ve even used them. I’ll be reserving judgement until I’ve spent some proper time with them. There’s plenty of time to praise or criticise them once we actually know what they’re like.
