"Why did fees go up?" — We're getting this a lot, so here's the deal: Songbird's gas price increased as part of Flare's planned FIP.16 reform. It's not congestion, not an outage, and definitely not us. The goal: burn more SGB tokens and reduce inflation from 5% → 3%. Key things to know: — Fees go to the network & validators, not to projects — Claims cost more than transfers because they're multi-step (verification → calculation → distribution → on-chain write) — Full increase takes effect July 7, 2026
