Today, at @UNRWA’ s darkest hours, I told the @UN General Assembly, that the Agency has been providing learning to generations of #Palestine Refugees, many of whom have achieved remarkable success around the world.
It’s an education that champions human rights & gender equality +
promotes UN values including tolerance & respect for cultural identity.
In the absence of a capable public administration, only @UNRWA can deliver education to hundreds of thousands of girls & boys.
In the absence of UNRWA, an entire generation of Palestinian refugee children will be deprived of the right to education.
Their future will be sacrificed, sowing the seeds for marginalization and extremism.
Without UNRWA, hundreds of thousands of children will be robbed of their childhood.
The future of Palestine Refugees is our shared responsibility
