Many don’t want to hear this but the best way to punish the GOP is to turnout and vote. All of the worst elements within it want a loss so they can then use that to enact purges and say “the solution is to appeal more to women and minorities and not these young white men.”

🚨 BREAKING: THIS IS HUGE. THE WHITE HOUSE JUST PUT AMERICAN LAYOFFS DIRECTLY INTO THE H-1B REVIEW PROCESS.
President Trump signed a new executive order TODAY.
Federal agencies are now directed to consider whether an H-1B sponsoring employer:
Laid off similarly situated American workers during the previous year
OR
Plans to lay them off in the future.
And there’s more.
The Labor Department has 30 DAYS to begin reviewing previously submitted H-1B Labor Condition Applications to determine whether action against sponsoring employers is warranted.
Think about the implications.
A company lays off thousands of American tech workers.
Then turns around and says it needs H-1B workers.
The government is now explicitly being told:
LOOK AT THE LAYOFFS.
This is exactly the question companies should have been forced to answer all along.

It’s admittedly a difficult pill to swallow, but that is what politics is.
Vivek is an all-around loathsome person. Every criticism you can levy against him I would agree with.
Nevertheless, midwest red states are weird. The Pence/DeWine wing of the GOP has had a stranglehold on them for decades and it is hard to believe but he actually would be a significant improvement. He does not control the issuing of visas, and the Trump admin has been pulling every bureaucratic lever it can to stop them anyway. That would be the biggest practical issue with him and it is moot.
Further, intentionally handing a state over to the left is folly. These people know how to wield power and they will do so. That GOP supermajority can disappear. And the third most important GOP state is in danger.
You have to defeat the left anywhere and everywhere, by any means possible, means that include voting for a man you abhor.
You have to make grown-up, difficult decisions and not treat politics the way a naive and petulant child would.
