Thank you.
For years @gladwell has been a NYC based Canadian gadfly with both publishers and fans in high places.
I will not read his copaganda.
I have just published a piece that is very important to me. It's about why so many "progressives" and people on "the left" are lying to us right now about crime, safety, and repression, and what we should be doing instead. equalityalec.substack.com/p/…

Short thread of the day on hasbara הַסְבָּרָה.
Replying to @RachelSFink
There’s always two phases of Hasbara - the ones who create it and the ones who share it. Looking over this list, it’s a lot of phase 1ers - those who know that a) the apartheid accusation refers to Palestinians living under occupation in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza, b) the Knesset voted to ban all Arab parties c) Arab Israelis are subject to plenty of discrimination both systematic and societal.
As soon as your Aunt Phyllis posts it on Facebook, that’s how you know we’re in phase 2.

Swell.
Will they be able to see the whole @LynnNovick documentary when it is released by using their @CorrectionNYC tablets ?
Last week on Rikers Island, people in custody watched selections from @lynnnovick's new documentary, CRIME AND PUNISHMENT IN AMERICA, then shared their own experiences in a conversation about punishment, rehabilitation and the possibility of a second chance.
Novick was joined by Commissioner Stanley Richards and consulting producer Rahsaan Thomas, both formerly incarcerated, with Sherene Crawford moderating.
CRIME AND PUNISHMENT IN AMERICA premieres November 16 on PBS.

We are no longer fooled by your genocidal hasbara הַסְבָּרָה.
Thanks to everyone who joined us this evening outside Phoenix Cinema to talk to people going in to watch NAZA.
All we asked of viewers was to be open-minded enough to watch the alternative view. We shared a leaflet with a QR code to find the free film.
Many people took the flyer and said they would watch the documentary, but some rejected the idea outright, deciding ahead of time that it would be 'all lies'.
And of course, as is increasingly the way nowadays, the venue called the police.
Reassuringly, the police had no problem with our presence and many customers were prepared to take a leaflet and keep an open mind.
If you are also prepared to consider all sides, then please watch and share the video at the link below.

An open letter to Viet Thanh Nguyen accuses him of abandoning intellectual rigor, parroting propaganda, and falling prey to academic conformity, all for challenging Israel’s narrative.
Questioning Israel is now evidence of intellectual failure 🤷🏽♀️.
Viet Thanh Nguyen is an

Which STI?
My friend (26) who has never had a boyfriend called me at 1am almost in tears. She said it was burning and she had weird discharge and she was scared. I told her to go see a gynecologist the next morning.
She went. The test came back positive for an STI. She kept saying she was a virgin so it didn’t make sense.
The doctor (a man this time) asked if she’d had any sexual contact recently.
She said no.
He asked if she’d been with a woman.
She said no.
He asked if she’d done anything at all that involved contact down there.
She said, “I just went to a bachelorette party last weekend. Nothing happened.”
He asked what they did.
She said the bride hired a male dancer. They got a private room. She turned down the full package.
The doctor looked at her and said, “What did you actually do then?”

I predict that @NewPlazaCinema will sell out most of its screenings of NAZA on weekends until the new year.

Here's a question for an ADW @CorrectionNYC.
How many people at @CorrectionNYC and @NYPDnews have to go along with the #PlacardCorruption for Nirvana Lowe to get away with parking illegally in a No Standing zone in Battery Park City with a placard that expired in 2024?

I am not an expert on the challenges the US faces in achieving HIV treatment equity.
The map here gives clues on where action is needed.

Actually you are right. The information from Dr. Ruben about how 5 countries have the majority of the People living with HIV who are virally unsurprised should concern us. South Africa, India, Mozambique, United States and Nigeria. The US mention was a huge surprise. It would be great to connect on this!
